Introduction

Chromecast is a small thumb size dongle developed by Google that plugs into a HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) port of a smart TV which allows us to cast media from our computer or mobile device via WiFi network using internet onto bigger TV screen.

• Chromecast dongle comes with 2.4ghz radio frequency to communicate with mobile devices ,tablets and computer. It comes with micro USB cable and power adapter.

• We can play movies and TV shows with resolution as high as 1080p.Almost all the web and mobile applications are compatible with this dongle. It cost 35$ only.

• We can also perform other function like make phone calls ,send messages ,check emails while using chromecast.

History

• Chromecast was announced on July 24,2013, and made available for purchase on the same day in the United States for US$35. 

• The Google Cast SDK was released on February 3, 2014, allowing third parties to modify their software to work with Chromecast.

• According to Google, over 20,000 Google Cast–ready apps are available, as of May 2015.

launch, and it was the best-selling streaming device in the United States in 2014, according to NPD Group.

• Since Chromecast's launch, it has handled more than 1.5 billion stream requests. Google's second Google Cast receiver, the Nexues Player, was released in November 2014.

Description• First we need to connect chromecast which is of 2

inches in length to HDMI port of a television.

• Secondly a power adapter to be connected so that it can be detected on wireless transmission.

• Then on your smartphone, tablet and pc an icon is enabled so that the device which is detected by Wi Fi is shown on the screen then you need press “cast” button.

Advantages

• Very affordable(cost 35$ only).• Supported apps work well.• Chrome tab casting is very useful.• Easy setup.• Works on multiple platforms.• You can control the chromecast with your phone.

Your phone is your remote.• It's insanely cheap.

Disadvantages

•It does not support Windows phones.

•Only limited apps can be used with Chromecast. But Google provides updates regularly to support other apps.

•Lack of adequate applications

• We can say that the future of chromecast is very bright as we see that it has already begun to change the lifestyles of people that how we consume the content in the living room.

• Google have made a recent announcement that it has opened its Chromecast software development kit to all developers.

• Now, any publisher can create an app and stream their content via Chromecast. So it will in future add Thousand of new apps and it is so cheap that it will change the lifestyles of people.

Chromecast is an inexpensive, easy-to-use way of accessing a dozen worthy apps, most of which have content readily available on rival streaming services. Name-brand apps and the ones that content providers are promising are important, but only serve to round out what makes Chromecast really unique: the ability to broadcast an app on Android or iOS, or a Chrome browser tab to a large TV.

Compatibility android devices and Windows too with just an application needed for the connection.
