Can I merge these flag State Notices with other eBooks carried on board?The Witherby Digital eBook format is compatible with all eBooks published by bodies such as OCIMF, SIGTTO, INTERTANKO, ICS/ISF and the IMO. Therefore, whether you are using anOCIMF Reader, Seamanship Library or the IMO Bookshelf, you can import all your digital marine publications and Shipping Notices to one location, ensuring nothing is overlooked and everything is compliant. This makes it straightforward to add another IMO Code or Convention or an industry publication to your digital library.

How does it work/what do you get?Once purchased, you will receive your initial pack that contains a DVD with its corresponding licence code, the initial set-up software and the complete dataset.You will also receive a plaque to mount on the navigational bridge to indicate that the vessel meets the requirements for the carriage of flag State material and publications in electronic format.The software, which is identified by your licence code, will have to be unlocked to give you access to your purchased information. This can be easily completed across the internet or by automated email response.You will then receive update discs at 2-monthly intervals for the period of your subscription.Note/. Update discs are sent out in January, March, May, July, September and November each year.

Carriage of eBooks OnboardTheMaritimeSafetyCommittee,atits81stsession(10to19May2006),andtheMarineEnvironmentProtectionCommittee,atits53rdsession(18to22July2005),gave guidance on the carriage of publications on board ships, and approved the IMO requirements on carriage of publications on board ships as follows: Publications may be carried in the form of electronic media such as CD-ROM in lieu of hard copies. Acceptable publications in electronic form should be those issued by IMO or an Administration or a body authorized by an Administration to ensure correctness of their contents and to safeguard against illegal copying. A medium could either contain a publication or as many publications as possible.
