>>> TODAY’S STORYLINES >>>

• LAST TIME OUT FOR CUW: The Falcons first quarter struggles were enough to give Olivet a cushion during a 56-42 win. CUW accumulated a season-best 584 total offensive yards, including 370 through the air. It was the first time this season the Falcons had two 100-yard rushers and two 100-yard receivers in the same game. Quarterback Aaron Nixon ran for a game-high 112 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 370 yards on 26-of-45 passing for three touchdowns. Wide receivers Dante Edwards and Jameson Radke had impressive games with 135 and 115 yards receiving, respectively, but Derrick Estfan was the go-to target in the red zone with three touchdown grabs. Andrew Gatz also rushed for 102 yards on just 10 carries, while adding a 65-yard touchdown run. CUW’s defense held Olivet under its 252 rushing yard average, limiting the opposition to 193 yards on the ground. In all, four Falcons had seven total tackles, with Kevin Kern recording 3.0 tackles for loss, pass breakup and a sack.• LAST TIME OUT FOR WISCONSIN LUTHERAN: A 22-point second quarter propelled Wisconsin Luther-an in front of Concordia Chicago and compiled with an applauding defensive effort in the second half, resulted in a 35-13 victory. Anthony Rodriguez and Gine DeGeorge split time at quarterback, combinding for 344 yards passing and three touchdowns. Despite giving up 420 total offensive yards, Wisconsin Lu-theran’s defense was tough and allowed Concordia Chicago to reach the red zone just once all game. The Warriors forced three turnovers (one interceptions, two fumbles).• KEY PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR CUW: The offense goes with the success of quarterback Aaron Nixon. The sophomore signal caller has accounted for 78.8 percent of the team’s total offense (2,446 pass and 540 rush) and passed for over 300 yards three times this season. One area he can improve is the intercep-tion ratio (22 TDs to 11 INTs). In the three games the Falcons have won this season, Nixon has recorded 1,013 total offensive yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions.• KEY PLAYER TO WATCH FOR WISCONSIN LUTHERAN: Wide receiver Mitch Skarban is the main offen-sive target for the Warriors, hauling in 1,026 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is a big-play receiver, recording receptions of 25 or more yards in seven of nine games this season. Skarban has gone over 100 receiving yards in five games this season.• MATCHUP TO WATCH: The matchup to watch this week isn’t so much a player vs. player, but what team will take advantage of the turnovers. CUW enters with the second-worst turnover margin in NACC games at -6, while WLC is slightly better at -3 in league games. The Falcons have scored just 14 points off turn-overs in conference games and the Warriors have 27 points off turnovers. If either team can find the end zone following a take away, they will most likely gain momentum towards a victory.• WHAT IS AT STAKE: The Luther Cup. The Falcons hold a 4-3 lead in the trophy rivalry game since the 2008 season. In addition, CUW has outscored Wisconsin Lutheran 173-131. Moreso, the Falcons are 2-1 against the Warriors at Tomasini Stadium since the Luther Cup has been given out.

KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER• Head coach Greg Etter and his staff have prepared the Falcons well for the final NACC game of the season, resulting in a 5-2 record during his tenure. As well, CUW has played Wisconsin Lutheran the past three season in the finale and defeated them twice.• The Luther Cup has sat in the trophy case at both CUW and Wisconsin Lutheran for successive years before its given away. The Falcons held it the first two years, before the Warriors took possession. CUW then took it back in 2012 and 2013 prior to Wisconsin Lutheran winning the trophy last season. Hope-fully, for the Falcons sake the streak changes today.

NUMBERS TO KNOW• 14: Quarterback Aaron Nixon is 14 completions shy of setting the program’s new single season re-cord for passing completions. He is 237-of-373 (63.5 percent) for 2,446 yards. In addition, Nixon is also four passing touchdowns away from breaking the single season record.• 9.12: Running back Andrew Gatz is a big play threat any time he touches the ball, evident by his 9.12 yards per play. The senior has run for plays of over 30 yards in four games this season, including a program record 87-yarder three weeks ago.• 39.9: Punter Jacob Mason has had an oustanding season, averaging 39.9 yards per kick. He currently holds the program’s single season record and barring any mishaps will break the eight-year old record.
