The NPA Photography course at level 5 encourages you to develop your skills in a numberof key areas: understanding basic photography, basic camera techniques, working withphotographic images, developing creative skills and understanding technologyapplications, presentation, developing professional folios of work and exhibition work.

Learning Intentions Success CriteriaI will:

● develop an understanding of manual andautomatic camera operations, camera handlingto set up professional looking photographs.

● develop an understanding of photographicterminology.

● complete a number of personalised photoshoots.

● develop skills in portrait and landscapephotography using both mobile phones andDSLR cameras.

● develop skills in planning interiors/exteriorshots .

I can:

● demonstrate effective selection of aperture,shutter speed and ISO to create photographswith correct exposure.

● research, identify and explain the meanings ofvarious photographic terms, e.g. depth of field,framing and the rule of thirds.

● review a range of photographs of people andcompare and contrast different styles andapproaches.

● select a range of images (indoors andoutdoors) taken by contemporaryphotographers describing the style, viewpointand technical approaches used.

● present my images in print, as a CD (includingthe original images and the edited version) andas an electronic presentation.

● evaluate and reflect on the aesthetic qualitiesand technical proficiency of my photographs.
