Second, we could edit any picture at all, in any way that we wanted. After having a little better idea of how to use photoshop, we were able to create a new picture out of another, and explain how and what we did to it. Lastly, we edited a picture for our unit plan. This let us apply what we had learned on photoshop, in order to make something useful for our lessons. Digital Imaging Assignment:

! For this assignment, we had to create three new pictures using the photoshop program.

First, we were to use the informational site Lynda. On Lynda, there were step by step

instructional videos showing us how to preform certain edits using photoshop. We edited a

picture using these videos and this was the first picture. Second, we could edit any picture at all,

in any way that we wanted. After having a little better idea of how to use photoshop, we were

able to create a new picture out of another, and explain how and what we did to it. Lastly, we

edited a picture for our unit plan. This let us apply what we had learned on photoshop, in order to

make something useful for our lessons.

!Digital Imaging Assignment Reflection:

! I had a class in high school that revolved mostly around using photoshop, so I had had

some experience with it. Even though it was a few years ago, I was excited to start using it again.

At first, I was surprised at how much I had forget how to do. Using a different version than I had

learned how to use it on, was quite a challenge, but I began to catch on watching the Lynda

videos. We used the project based learning pillar of 21st century education for this assignment.

This was because we watched and learned how to perform certain tasks on photoshop, then we

made products of our own. These projects show our ability in using the application, and our

ability to just create something new of our own shows critical thinking. The uses of Photoshop in

a classroom are endless. As a teacher, I could use Photoshop to make any graphic at all that I

might want to use in my lessons. I could also teach children the basic tasks on photoshop and let

them experiment with it on their own to strengthen their critical thinking skills. If I were to use

digital imaging with students of a younger age, I might use a different application that

Photoshop, that might simplify the options a bit more. There are many web applications that be

used to do similar things to photoshop. I could use these to put the idea of “photoshopping”

something at their level, to help them possibly expand on to use the more complex Photoshop.
