Computer games genres Action Game Action game is a video game genre which is physical challenges; this type of game includes hand-eye coordination and reaction-time. These types of games include fighting, shooting and platform games. Example of games like this is call of duty this game includes fighting and shooting and includes hand-eye coordination and good reaction.

Role-playing game Role playing game is a video game genre in which players assume the role of characters in fictional settings. Players have to become a character which they responsibity for roles within narrative, thought liberal acting or to make decision for their characters development. These types of games usually follow system rules and guidelines to play the game.

Adventure games Adventure games are video games which include stories which players need to complete; these games will include puzzles, collecting things such as money and gold est. and solving things which could be physical challenge. These suits of games are mainly based on stories which are draw from a media such as literature and films. Most adventure games are design for singer player as characters made for mult-player designer’s are difficult.

Strategy Games Strategy games are included in computer games, videos and board games in which player’s uncover and often decision making skills.

Simulation Games Simulation games include activities in real life in form of a game for different reasons such as training, analysis .In these types of games there isn’t any goal as such just mainly developing your character and running around to different places. Here are a few examples of these types of games

war games

business games

Role playing simulation. These types of games first started off from a basic strategic, planning and learning exercise games and case studies.

Sports games Sports games allow players to play sports which are recreated with a game, such as team sports, athletics and extreme sports. Here are a few examples of these types of games

Tiger woods’(golf)2011

Sports basketball

Combat games Combat games were first early video games there were based on two earlier black and white arcade games which were created by Atari.

Educational game Educational games are created to help learn people about different subjects like English, maths and about history EST. The games help people learn the subjects while playing the games it makes it more funnier to learn in this way .Theses types of game can be include as video games and board games.

Design part There are lots of different areas when developing a game first there is the ideas and design part which you start with first which include:

The design

The storyboard

mood board

Soundtrack

Script

Characters

The design Designing a game there are lots of parts people have to go thought for the design such as a lot of research on other games to get ideas of how you want the game to look and what you want the game to include and also do. You need to research on games which are simple to play and games which are hard work so then you can decide what type of game you want yours to be. Another thing you have to look at

is the graphic some games are really hard to play but don’t have the best graphics and images include in the game, others have really good graphic and images which make people go wow, this is something else you have to think about how must you can spend out on the look of the game. Mood board Mood board is another part in which you would be working on at the same time as research in your design, while research you will see colours that you like and might want to include in your game so you put them colours on your mood board, Any images or fronts that you see that you like include it all on your mood board ,background images or colours include ,Type of game you want include and stuff that you want to include in the game like

guns or flowers for example .The mood board is like a help sheet of starting your idea of a game. The Script The Script is the next part once you have done a lot of research and created a mood board of what you want in your game you then need to have a long think of what you want the script to be like and what you want to include in, With some games there isn’t a lot of writing but in other games there is a lot of script so it’s important to think what type you want.

7 | P a g e

The Storyboard The storyboard is what you create after the script you should by the time you create a storyboard have any idea of how you want the game to run and what will be included in the game such as colours,

people, animals and other images est. The storyboard once created is what you will follow when you start create the game properly if they is any changes when creating the game this must be put into the storyboard or explain after just so others can understand why something wasn’t include or why something else was added. Characters The characters are important you need to decide what type of characters you want in your game if you want any, some games don’t include characters but objects which you then as the player move around to play the game, in other games there are characters which players can choose who they want to play as to make it more funnier and also include different outfits for your character to wear. In your storyboard you should already have include characters/objects to show how the game is going to work and how it follows.

The Soundtrack The soundtrack is the next part you need to research you need to find games which are in the same game genre as the one you’re doing and see what soundtracks were include or what sound effects were include to make the game look and sound good. Then you can have an idea of what type of music you want in your game and staring looking for music.

The computer part of the design 2D,3D,4D is really important in a game because you have to decided if you want to make the game 2 dimensional which is basely flat ,3 dimensional allows the background and characters of a game to look realist and viewable. 4D is also included in games which include 3D .4D makes the game feel real to the users using sensation like vibration on the game pads.

Modelling When the game designers have completed they artwork (design) for a game they then need to created it into a 3D model this is made by modelling software which will help the team on what they want the game and characters to look like. Graphics processing The graphics side of the game is important as the team have to decided if they want they game to have really good graphics or just a standard look, this also all depends on the amount of money they willing to pay out for the look of the game. The special graphic effects are like water reflections and shadows resolutions. The hardware side of the game is important because you first need to check that the console you’re making the game for is able to run the hardware and software you want to use for your game.

Programming Programming is another very important part to designing a game, there are so many different programmers used in designing a game, as you have many programmers writing different codes for just one game of course all the coding would work together. AI stands for artificial intelligence has to be included when developing a game as it allows the users when playing a game on they own(1 player) to get the computer to help you thought the game and also if you are playing single on a shooting game the computer will be who your fighting against.

9 | P a g e

Networking If the game allows online multiplayer, then if the players want to play in a team of friends will have to set up the networks and servers to allow all the users to be able to play together online. Beta testing Beta testing is basely the owners of the game will employ someone to have a play on the game before its released to get an idea of what the publie is going to think

of the game, or sometimes the designers will realises a trial of the game which players can download to find out views of what players think of the game so far. Collision detection With collision detection there will be a dedicated team which will go round finding all the collision detection. What is collision detection? Well collision detection is where a player will have a character on a game and the player has to talk to other characters and find different objects after doing this the player will possible get something new on the game or character to change into a new character.

Consol compatibility Consol compatibility is mainly towards the graphic and programming of the game, the game designers will need to make sure that the game console is able to read the coding of the game and also allows the game to be read by the consoles graphics cards. The reason for this is because its important that the console can read the coding so the console can allow the game to be viewed in different languages.

PC PC stands for personal computer the common purpose of a personal computer is the size, capabilities and the price of them make it useful for users. Computers have become more and more common now as it helps users in personal manners and also “time” computers allow companies to

network they computer all up together which allows they staff members to find the data they need and also processing data to other systems in the company. PC can include desktop computers, laptops, tablet PC and handheld PC these are also known as palmtop as there are smaller than a laptop. Smart phones Smart phones are mobile phones but included highly developed computer abilities compared to ordinary mobile phones. Smart phones to most people are known as a small computer which

includes a mobile phone connection. Most phones these days are able to run applications which are bases on platform like java ME, where as a Smartphone allow the users to run and also multitask applications that are local to the underlying hardware. Smart phones are able to run operating systems software which allows the smart phones to prove a platform for application developers this includes fictions such as camera phone, personal digital assistant.

Environments of gaming

2D is 2 dimensional which is basily flat ,these types of computer games are created on vector images,2 dimensional graphics are more easier to work with then

3 dimensional this is because you can control more of a 2D graphics then a 3D. 3D is a 3 dimensional which allows the background and characters of a game to look realist and viewable. 3D graphics are based around photographical images not vector images. 4D is used on games to make it feel real to the users using sensation like vibration on the game pads.4D is mainly used in game which include shooting like call of duty or car games which include bumps and when the player goes into things the vibration on the pad happen.

Dance mats were created to make gaming more interesting and created more team playing game for people to get involved in. Dace mat games are also great for health activities to help keep people in shape as the game is fun to play so the players don’t realise they doing works outs.

Xbox kinte is another game which makes it more exciting for players to play and also creating team fun .Xbox kinte is also good for health activities to help people keep fit and health.
