2. Chris Brown - Fame The front cover conveys more than the ideal colour range of 3-4. This album uses brown, yellow, purple, green, blue and white. This attracts the consumers attention due to the vast contrast of colours. However, this could be foreseen as tacky, and too much colours may disincentive customers to purchase this album. Chris Brown is clearly conveyed at the front, to promote himself and his album, the title F.A.M.E is in white which is eye catching because it stands out to the other darker colours. 3. The disc, within the album matches the back of the F.A.M.E album, indicating synergy. The same silver mask is used on both males in the photo. The male on the disc and back album cover, wears black and white which portrays they belong together. This, the title F.A.M.E, alongside the font type matches the album cover and back cover. Through this, the audience can identify that the product matches up, sold by Chris Brown. However, the front cover uses a lot of colours, whereas the inside uses black and white, and the back cover uses white, black and pink-red. This could be somewhat confusing for new consumers. As Chris Brown is a well known artist already, he already has an existing fan base, and therefore the colour matching doesnt matter in this case. Pop song ( same genre as Hey You beautiful by Olly murs. 4. Rihanna Talk that talk The front cover, disc and back cover uses the colours of black, red and white. The colours adds sophistication to the album, indicating her songs are about herself and she tells a story of love. Her intimate body language proves so as well, she shows skin through her legs which engages the male attention. Hence, attracting a eider base of potential audiences. The newspaper type of graphics on her disk, within the album creates an old fashion feel which links to the colours of black and white. On the outside, her initial 'R' is on the front cover, as she is already a well known artist, she doesn't need to have her full name. She conveys her face in a medium-close up to show her femininity, which again attracts the males. Her album is called 'Talk That Talk', which links to her mouth being open as if she is talking. 5. Jay Z - Black The colour scheme used in this album is black and white, this matches the title of the album. This simplistic colour scheme, conveys his shadows and inner thought as he hides behind his hat. The graphics portrays his thoughts, perhaps personal real life stories. The font style is the same, however the artist name is white and the album name is fainter, this separates the titles. 6. The back cover, and the disc are both black and white. This helps the audience identify the album and disc belong to Jay-Z and which album. The font style is the same on the disc, as well as the back of the cover. It is simple, which attracts a wider audience who are attracted to plain albums that doesnt have a pop of colours. The symbol used, at the bottom of the album cover and the disc conveys the company record. 7. Advertisements 8. Ellie Goulding - Lights The colours of gold, blonde, white and black is used in both of these products. Most digipaks and adverts contain the same materials such as the same image, font and outlook because artists want the audience to be able to identify the album quickly. The advert promotes Ellies album, which is also out on itunes too.
