DIGI-PAK ANALYSIS

FALL OUT BOY – INFINITY ON

HIGH

Page 3: Digipak analysis

The digi-pak has a very entropic feel about it, for example on the front cover is a picture a sheep

with wings which is not something that exists. The name of the artist is printed clearly on the

front of the digi-pak. The font used is one that is often used for Fall Out Boy, and so you could

say is part of their brand identity.

The theme of stars is shown throughout the digi-pak. This has connotations of ‘other worlds’ or

‘the universe’.This could suggest that the band are saying that they are as big/well-known as the

universe, or that this cd is going to be a big as the universe.

In the inside of the digi-pak is a small booklet, which still has the same decoration of stars as the

rest of the digi-pak, this links everything together. Having a small booklet is a common

convention of a digi-pak.

On the panel that contains the cd, behind the cd, there is a image of the band members looking

at each other through a mirror. This adds to the overall theme of other-worldly or fantasy, which

is current throughout the digi-pak. This band is known for having some weird ideas and so this

digi-pak links to the brand identity of the band.

FLORENCE AND THE MACHINE -

LUNGS

Page 5: Digipak analysis

The front cover links in with the title of the cd, showing the artist with an image of lungs. There

seems to be a main theme throughout the digi-pak, with is nature or fantasy. This is something

that we commonly associated with this artist. The font used is the font that this artist always

seems to use, this along with the nature theme could be seen as the artists house style. The quite

strange picture of the lungs contrasts with the nature and fantasy theme on the rest of the

panel/s. This could suggest that there is something unique about the music within the cd.

The booklet that is in the inside of the digi-pak contains mainly promotional style shots of the

artist which, on the opposite side of the booklet, are accompanied by a few lyrics from song of

the songs on the cd. This is a very simple but affective tool and makes the audience want to learn

more. Plus, it means that the artist is promoted, which is a key features of any promotional

package.
