SALSAAL E SAFA

It is a fact that when the Muslim nation collectively makesSeerat-un-Nabi the primary objective of their lives, it will addsuch beauty, brilliance and radiance to the face of the Muslimnation that all other nations, under the influence of this beautyand radiance shall immerse in indescribable state and will becompelled to proclaim the word of Shahadat.

There is no inadequacy or inaccuracy in Islam, Quran orthe life of the Messenger of Allah (SAW). If there is any deficiencyand error, it is in the people who attribute themselves to Islam andare termed as Muslims and are considered as the followers ofQuran. If only the Muslims of the world firmly resolve topractically make Quran and the life of the Prophet of Mercy (SAW)their focal point of life, a great revolution would occur in the worldthat will become a source of global invitation to faith.

If all the Muslims regard the life of the Prophet ofMercy (SAW) as their template and guide in real sense andmould their society and their affairs and ethics in accordancewith the prophetic way, then the luminosity of their liveswould be superlative.

As the month of Rabi-ul-Awwal arrives, we certainlymention about the Messenger of Peace (SAW) and in the name ofSeerat and Milad, conduct small and large gatherings andmeetings, seminars, rallies, conferences etc. And the month ofRabi-ul-Awwal, which is the month of both birth and demise ofthe Prophet (SAW), no sooner this month draws to a close, thanwe virtually ignore the life of the Messenger of Mercy (SAW).

Seerat-un-Nabi(Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) adds beauty to the face of the community

In this connection, we ought to adopt certain and precisemeasures; firstly we, not just emotionally but sincerely, muststudy the Seerat of the Messenger of Mercy (SAW) and then notehis (SAW) attributes and then decide with determination as towhich among these be implemented in our practical life so thatwe practice and master those attributes out of the love for theProphet (SAW).

Similar to the inseparable and invincible association thatthe Messenger of Mercy (SAW) had with Glorious Lord, we musttry to strengthen our relationship and bond with our true Creatorand Lord. We must try to adopt the worships and practices, withpunctuality and perseverance, which are essential to attain thisblessing. We must also seek knowledge about the extent to whichthe Messenger of Mercy (SAW) kept proximity to the divinescripture of guidance during his lifetime; and we must reciteQuran with proper pronunciation and punctuation and understandits actual meaning and resolve to make efforts to communicate themessage of this Book of God to the masses.

We must read, in the light of historical events and facts, about the kind treatment of the Messenger of Mercy (SAW)towards the creatures of God and must practically replicate it withthose whom we have relationship. The kind treatment that ourBeloved Master (SAW) had with widows, slaves, servants, sick, poor, oppressed, prisoners, orphans, guests and even enemies andanimals during his life in Makkah and Madina and the eventsrelated to this kind treatment that are abundant in the books ofHadees, if we learn from these events and replicate the same kindtreatment, we would be able to witness for ourselves the scenarioof transformation of enmity and bitterness into deep friendship aspresented by the Holy Quran:

Respond to the harsh word with that which isthe best, by doing so you will observe that the one with whom

Salsaal e SafaNovember 2018 51

you were in enmity, will be like a close friend (Fussilat:34).In this multi faith country, where conspiracies and efforts

are being made to sow the seeds of communalism, if the IndianMuslims adopt those high morals and noble attributes left behindby the Messenger of Mercy (SAW) as his inheritance, then itcould be stated with challenge that those alone would prevail inthis country whose intentions are correct and whose faith is pureand whose affairs are clean and transparent.

It is the need of the hour that the Muslims adopt attributeslike kindness, grace, virtue, loyalty, honour, love and affection, generosity, patience and understanding, good words, benevolence, truth, sincerity and dedication, moderation, pardon andforgiveness and kind-heartedness and stay away from bad traitsand habits likes injustice, cruelty, niggardliness, enmity, rage, anger, fight, falsehood, treason, fraudulence, harassment, discrimination, misgivings, foul language, sycophancy and others.

This is the formula for successful life in this countrythrough which we can live with peace and security andtranquillity. Time has arrived that the Muslims remain prepared todischarge the obligation of service to humanity in both individualand collective capacities based on the method of the Messenger ofMercy (SAW).

Let us feed the hungry, water the thirsty, clothe theunclothed, visit the sick, console the bereaved and treat everyhuman being with kindness. Success and accomplishment are onthe side of those who follow these habits and practices.

Dua Afia Salmana

My soul- so imperfect and so flawed,I bare it all before God.When both my hands together I draw,And bow down to make dua.Dua- the essence of all worship,Has the power to ease any hardship.

With the Divine I connect,And take out time to reflect-Upon my shortcomings and my sins,My longings and my misgivings!

I pray- from guilt to be freed,In transgression to not exceed. But in morality to succeed,With raised hands to Him I plead.

If our lives are a whirlpoolThen dua is that tool,That helps us to copeAnd turns our fears into hope!

So this is only what I wish to say:Atleast a little each day,Take out time to supplicate. It's the best way to meditate!

Nourish your soul with prayers, Talk to the One who really cares. With Him learn to communicate, And make Him your best associate.

(Episode29)

Expiation for oath is to feed ten indigent

Allah will not punish you for what is meaningless in your

oaths, but He will impose blame upon you for breaking what youintended of oaths. So its expiation is the feeding of ten needypeople from the average of that which you feed your own familiesor clothing them or the freeing of a slave. But whoever cannotafford it - then a fast of three days is required. That is theexpiation for oaths when you have sworn. But guard your oaths. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may begrateful (Surah Maeda: 89).

Kindly review the command that has been conveyed inthis verse that a person swore in the name of Allah and he brokeit; so obviously there is a shortfall in the rights of Allah but inexpiation of the same a poor has been associated so that as anexpiation for breaking an oath taken in the name of Allah, tenpoor are benefitted and their stomachs are filled and hungervanished. Do consider that the extent to which Allah has regardedthe poor in His Commands that when a Muslim swore in Hisname and broke the oath, he has been stipulated by the Shariat tofeed the poor or clothe them. Here the Shariat rulings have beenassociated to philanthropy.

Rights of People and Service to Humanity

In the light of Quranic VersesMoulana Gayas Ahmed Rashadi

Fast or give Sadaqa if you are sick in the state of Hajj

And complete the Hajj and Umrah for the Pleasure of

Allah. But if you are prevented, then offer what can be obtainedof sacrificial animals with ease. And do not shave your headsuntil the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. Andwhoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head makingshaving necessary must offer a ransom of fasting or charity orsacrifice. (Surah Baqara: 196)

Since this verse had been revealed on the occasion of theTreaty of Hudaibiya when the Prophet (SAW) and Companions(RA) were in the Ihram of Umrah and the infidels of Makkah hadprevented from entering Makkah and offering Umrah; thecommand had been revealed to do a sacrifice as a ransom forIhram and after the sacrifice, the Ihram could be removed but inthe very next phrase it has been stated thatremoving Ihram and shaving the head or cutting the hair is notpermissible until the sacrifice has reached its destination ( i.e. thelimits of Haram); this command is for healthy individuals. Forthose who are sick have been given the concession that onaccount of any disease or due to any pain, if the hair have to beshaven off, it is permitted but the ransom for this concession isfasting or giving charity or sacrificing.

Do consider that Hajj is related to the rights of Allahbut through the command of charity or sacrifice in the event ofany shortcoming due to a compulsion, we could estimate thatAllah has associated the expiation for His rights with thephilanthropy by commanding a charity to the poor or asacrifice in Allah's name; it is obvious that if sacrifice is done, the meat shall be of use for the poor. The extent to whichhuman rights have been considered in Shariat command isrealised through these types of verses. ( Continued)
