We Makinga Difference

Feeding Hawaii’s Hungry.Hickam Federal CreditUnion was proud tosupport the HawaiiFoodbank this holidayseason by collectingfood donations frommembers and staff. In all,Hickam FCU collected over 1,500pounds of food and over $1,600 in monetary donationsto help those in need. The Hawaii Foodbank provides more than123,000 Hawaii households with food assistance. Hickam FCU wouldlike to thank all of you who made a donation to this worthwhile cause.

Throughout 2015, Hickam FCU participated in the Lanakila Mealson Wheels program by making bi-weekly meal deliveries to homeboundseniors. Also, on Thanksgiving Day, Hickam FCU staff volunteershelped the Lanakila Meals on Wheels program by preparing meals,which were delivered to those who may otherwise have gone withouta warm holiday meal. Making a Difference for Families and the Community.In November, Hickam FCU partnered with the Weed and Seedprogram and provided 330 Keiki ID’s during the Safe CommunitiesDay at Leeward Community College.

In the true spirit of giving Hickam FCU donated personal andhousehold goods to the residents of the Mental Health Kokua grouphome fulfilling their individual wish list.

Also, Hickam FCU volunteer bakers fired-up their ovens, donnedtheir aprons, and baked 50 dozen cookies for the Hickam Air Field2015 Christmas Cookie Caper. It’s a way of creating a home-away-from-home feeling with holiday goodies for the single or deployedairmen.

And once again,Hickam FCUpartnered with theU.S. Air Force First Sergeant’sAssociation AngelTree program. Weare deeply gratefulto all of those who

made a donation to theAngel Tree and helped brighten the holidays for many

Hickam Air Field children. With the help of generous hearts, HickamFCU was able to collectenough gifts to bringholiday joy to over 150children.

Greetings!!! How time flies - it’sa brand New Year, that one time of

any year when we optimistically set resolutions, perhaps realistically knowing

we won’t be able to keep them…We welcome 2016 with new vigor as we set the goals we

look forward to achieving. We greet the new year with the promiseof new beginnings, opportunities, and growth, and we celebratethe turn of the calendar with wishes of happiness, success, goodhealth, and prosperity.

Last year, we accomplished quite a bit:• We started 2015 with an announcement of our land purchase in Pearl City, to be home to our future flagship branch; we will be breaking ground within the next few months

• We opened our fifth branch in April with our innovative Kioskbranch, in Kahala Mall, the first of-its-kind in Hawaii, bringingour affordable financial products and services to those livingin East Honolulu

• We introduced a new look Online Banking service with enhanced functionality and security

• We integrated with Online Banking, a robust Mobile Bankingservice that featured Remote Deposit Capture that allows members to take a photo of a check with their smartphone or tablet and e-deposit the check conveniently by simply pressing the send button

• We converted our credit and debit cards to EMV Chip Technology that improves security when making purchases,while also switching our VISA brand to MasterCard® and

• We introduced Motorcycle Loans for those commuters who enjoy the extra freedom a motorcycle brings.After having accomplished so much in 2015, I’m excited to

say that the Hickam Federal Credit Union is looking forward to2016 with much anticipation and promise. These feelings areespecially true as we prepare to celebrate our 80th Anniversaryat the end of October and we look to the future as we watch ournew headquarters and branch become real.
