PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

CANBERRA EXCURSION
Mr Shearman, Mr Taylor and I supervised the children for the Stage 3 Canberra excursion in Week 10 last term. Our schedule was extremely busy, allowing the children to be exposed to quite a lot of attractions that Canberra offers. The children, although tired from the long days and travel, were fantastic. In addition, our families are fortunate to have had the cost of the Canberra excursion reduced by $20 per student, due to the PACER rebate and the distance required to travel from our school.
Year 3/4 Farm Day Excursion
Permission Notes and Payment of$50 for this excursion are due
Friday 18 October.
LIVING SMART FESTIVAL
Our school, once again, entered the Living Smart Festival at Speers Point Park this year. A huge thank you to Mrs Clark and Mr White who coordinated our school entry, consisting of the stall and vegetable garden. In addition, although our children were exhausted from the Canberra excursion and a huge Term 3, Sunni P, Tegan and Elke volunteered their time to assist at the garden stall and talk to spectators about our school.
SCHOOL UNIFORM - OLD STOCK
We have a limited number of size 16 and 18 (child size) school shirts with the old school logo available for purchase for $5 each. Please contact the school office if you would like to make a purchase.
GARDEN STALL - THURSDAY AFTERNOONS
Most of you will know that we hold our garden stall on a Thursday afternoon. We always have free range eggs for sale at $5 per dozen. We also have a large variety of herbs including mint, parsley, thyme, lemon thyme, rosemary, bay leaves, garlic chives and basil coming soon, for 50c bunch. All of the herbs and eggs are available for purchase any day of the week. You won’t find fresher and cheaper herbs anywhere!
This week on the stall we will have peas, fresh cos and mignonette lettuce, strawberries, spinach, broad beans, and kale. All picked fresh Thursday. We also have some succulents for sale for $2.
Please support our stall. If you can’t make it in to school, send some money in with your children or send an order into the office any time and we will be happy to fill it and send it home for you.
CANTEEN MENU UPDATE
A revised copy of the menu will be sent home today. Updates include the addition of frozen pineapple rings and ice cream cones. Hot chocolate has been taken off the menu for summer. Please also note the change of price for chicken fingers, which has increased to $2.50 for 6.
