Worked part time for a consulting geologist. Dad drilled water wells, so I came by my interest in the oil industry honestly. After graduation I worked for Standard Oil Company (formerly Stanolind), and in 1965, when they moved their division office to Denver, all us girls tagged along. Along the way it became Amoco. While in Denver I switched jobs to the Marathon Oil Company Denver Research Center (DRC) in Littleton. What a place: amazing people and amazing atmosphere. While there I met and married a new Research Engineer, straight from Stanford, Bob Earlougher. We both worked for DRC until a brief foray into the world of consulting for Bob brought us temporarily to Houston. Sanity returned and we decided to hustle back to the rarified atmosphere at DRC. I worked part time. In 1979 our gorgeous, wonderful daughter, Katherine Anne (Katie) was born. We moved to Casper for several years, then were transferred to Vincennes, OH for a couple of years. From there we made a big move to London, England for 7 years. Transformative years for Katie for sure, and we had a ball. We took full advantage of the opportunities in that part of the world. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home Mom. 1994 brought a move back to Houston. More travel, mostly business for Bob and fun for me. Bob retired in 2001 and we continued to travel for several years. In about 2007 he was officially diagnosed with Dementia with Lewybodies – a very nasty affliction -- and passed away in August of 2011. I continue to enjoy life and friends in The Woodlands, Houston, Indiana and Ohio, London (love those Brits), and my old friends in Littleton. Most especially I treasure getting together with the Over “D” Hill Gang when I am in the Front Range. I get there fairly often on my way to or from Steamboat Springs, where I have a little condo and have two special grandkids. So that’s my story.

Their home is a condo where they enjoy all aspects of not mowing grass or shoveling snow. They have lived in Chesterfield for 23 years. Diane grew up in Kirkwood, MO. Of course, Bud grew up in Douglas, WY. They met in 1991 and have been walking the love walk ever since. Diane worked in administrative positions, until retiring in 1997. She was successful in adopting new processes and was recognized for her outstanding contributions. Diane began Grandmother Duties in 1999 and has been “on-call” since then. Bud worked at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing, from Sept 1962 through July 2004. He had 5 careers within the same company and was privileged to travel to several parts of the world on business related to our military fighter jets. He then taught MBA Program Management courses at 2 universities in St. Louis. Bud and Diane are members of the St. Louis Family Church in Chesterfield, MO.

Summer 1962 Drove Water, gravel and hot mix trucks on interstate job just west of Douglas. Summers of 63-67, drilled seismograph shot holes and cored coal for Stacy Drilling in Montana, Ohio and Colorado. 1967 employed by Wyoming Statute Revision Comm. to draft first revision of Wyo. Education statues since statehood. 1967-1972 Assistant Attorney General State of Wyoming (Helped establish the Division of Criminal Investigation; Handled about 1/2 the criminal appellate load for the state briefing and arguing cases in Wyo. Supreme court. 1972 to 1975 Assistant United States Attorney. Tried wide variety of criminal cases. 1975 - 1981: Private practice of Law, wheatland WY. My partner and I handled all of the legal work for the design, permitting and construction of the Laramie River Station, a state of the art $1.5 Billion (1975 dollars)1,500 megawatt power plant together with about 500 miles of 345kv transmission lines. 1981-1994, United States for the district of Wyoming, Appointed by President Reagan. Chief federal law enforcement officer for entire state. Worked on a daily basis with the FBI, DEA, State DCI, Secret Service, USFW, IRS, BLM, NPS, DCIS, USAF and multiple other state and federal agencies. Joined USAF July 25 where studied Russian at Indiana University, then to Peshawar, Pakistan for 15 months. Learned some Pashto there, which transferred me to NSA in DC. Back to Casper College for two years, then to DC again in 1966 to graduate from George Washington with degrees in Accounting and Finance. Worked and studied full time, first as a Capitol cop, then Controller/VP Finance. Spent two years, mostly in Mexico, developing psychiatric hospitals and drug rehabs, where I picked up some Spanish. In 1973, started my software business, eventually specializing in property management for clients in US and Canada. Sold to an ex-client in 2006, then moved to

Boulder, CO to work with my daughter until June 2009. Married twice, first to Caryl Joanna Hagen from Casper. We had two children, Andrew and Catherine. Divorced in 1983, shortly after I sobered up. Met Susan, my current wife, in 1984, and married in 1987. Learned to fly, first gliders, then power, single and multi engine, taildraggers and float planes. Got back on motorcycles 2005, and have toured parts of the US, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Germany, Scotland, Wales, England, Spain, Croatia, Albania, Greece, Turkey and Morocco on motorcycles. Built and raced sea kayaks on the Chesapeake Bay. Learned to sew to make my own outdoor gear, and covers for the planes. Got scuba open water certified in 2012, diving Florida, Honduras, Mexico, Fiji and Thailand. Lots of traveling all over the US, part of which was in the planes I learned to fly.
