Assessment Task
Assessment Task• 6 groups, each group assigned a D’harawal season with a
resource kit
• Your job, as the Wollongong tourism committee, is to present either a power point presentation, a poster or a brochure describing the biotic and abiotic features of your given season. – N.B. This can also include seasonal activities that are important to
you, for example NRL grandfinal
• TIME FRAME: Next two periods allocated for research and then on third period presentations will be given to the class.
Assessment TaskCRITERIA• Each person within the group must research at least
one feature.
• The final product must include three Indigenous indicators of the season
• Both scientific and D’harawalian names are to be used for species.
• Each group will have 5 minutes to present to the class
Resource Kits• Each kit has both Indigenous and Western indicators of
season.– Indigenous indicators include images of animals and
samples or images of plants associated with the season identified.
– Western information includes rainfall, temperature and solar exposure data that needs to be collated.
• An extract from Bodkin & Robertson (2006) describing the six D’harawal seasons and associated indicators.
