The first quarter of the RY 2015-16 is almost over. It is

essential that we take a stock of the highs and lows of the

Club functioning.

Starting with Club Administration the Club has been able to

organise interesting programs in the 11 weekly meetings,

including the 79th Installation meeting. There has been a

number of mind blogging speakers who have enlightened

the members in divergent topics. The Club bulletin has been

published and circulated regularly keeping the members

well informed of the Club and RI activities. Fellowship has

been of high marks especially with the relentless effort of

the Club President Rtn Nasim Majumder.

Club Service Projects was of high marks with almost a

project every week. These projects, on own or jointly with

other Rotary/Rotaract Clubs, District, RCC and other

organisations has been well responded. Tree plantation,

distribution of sanitary latrines and tube wells, dental

camps, eye camps, ABCD (Asut-Bangla Care of Dental),

distribution of hygiene kits projects has benefitted a large

number of people especially from low income group living

in rural areas. The Club is preparing for the Sleeping Kit

Distribution program in full gear.

The Club has been actively participating in TRF program

with substantial contribution. The Club is actively involved

in Polio eradication program, which is a signature project of

RI international.

Through these projects the Club has been able to create and

build its image in the society and has been able to involved

a large number of volunteers from different walks of life

mostly from the younger generation.

Attendance of the members in the regular weekly meetings

and in projects and programs has been meek, along with

the membership growth which needs to be seriously

brainstormed.

The Breast Cancer Awareness Month is observed across the

Breast Cancer and 458,000 deaths worldwide. In Bangladesh

there are about 35,000 new cases Breast Cancer and 9,000

Dear fellow Rotarians:

It is our pleasure to announce Rotary’s annual World Polio Day kickoff event on 23 October in New York

City. We'll use this occasion to shine a light on Rotary’s leadership in the fight that has brought us This

Close to ending polio.

The Live stream event, co-sponsored by UNICEF, will bring together our partners in the Global Polio

Eradication Initiative, government officials, and global health leaders from non governmental

organizations and will mobilize more than 30,000 supporters.

July and August brought great milestones in the polio eradication effort. For the first time in history,

Nigeria -- then all of Africa -- marked one year with no new polio cases caused by the wild virus.

We are closer to making good on our promise to end polio forever, but there's still work to be done. As

we protect the progress made in Africa, we focus even more sharply on Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Our World Polio Day kickoff event is our opportunity to update participants around the world on our

progress and next steps and inspire them to share their voices, donate, or advocate for eradication as

we near the finish line.

We invite you to join us and watch the event live, starting at 18:30 New York time (UTC-4) or later -- a

recording will be made available. We also ask you to raise awareness of our polio eradication effort in

your own community and build a local audience for our World Polio Day event. Visit the End Polio Now

website to download resources that can help you raise awareness and funds. Share this information

with your Rotary clubs, districts, communities, and elected officials.

Thirty years ago, we told the world what Rotary believes: that we can achieve the eradication of polio.

Our dream is becoming reality. For every child, on World Polio Day, let’s push ahead to the reality of a

polio-free world.

Warm regards,

Rotary International President K.R. Ravindran

and Rotary Foundation Chair Ray Klinginsmith
