Miley Cyrus’s Stalker Pleads Guilty to Resisting Arrest, Gets
Probation.
SAVANNAH, Georgia — A 53-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to resisting police outside the set of a Miley Cyrus movie on the Georgia coast after prosecutors agreed to drop charges that he tried to stalk the teen pop star. Mark McLeod, who told police he was engaged to marry the 16-year-old "Hannah Mon-tana" star, was sentenced by a State Court judge to two years probation and was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. He was also banished from Savannah and surrounding Chatham County and ordered to stay away from Cyrus and her family. District Attorney Larry Chisolm issued a statement saying prosecutors dropped attempted stalking charges against McLeod because they lacked evidence that his attempt to reach or follow Miley Cyrus was different than the hundreds of other fans "attempt to reach or follow Miley Cyrus." Oprah Winfrey apologized to Robin Givens on Friday's episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" over how she dealt with a comment made by the star's ex, former boxer, Mike Tyson, last month. "I was really hurt, really, really hurt," Givens told Winfrey of the TV show host's and her audi-ence's reaction to the boxer's Octo-ber "Oprah" show comments about the actress' 1998 Barbara Walters interview. Tyson previously claimed on Oprah's show that Givens lied during the interview and he added, "At that particular moment, I truly wanted to sock her, but I didn't do it," as the "Oprah" audience laughed.

Students in Mr. Orvin’s physics
class recently used their knowledge
of physics and the law of gravity to
safely drop eggs from the top of the
football stadium. Their objective
was to create a carrier to hold the
egg so that it would not break when
dropped. Pictured at right are Cody

Students in Mr. Braud’s 5th period Graphics and Animation class designed posters of their favorite football teams on
computers in their class . The following posters were designed by Josh Devillier, Ridge Simoneaux, and Gilbert Bliss.
Josh Devillier, the designer of the LSU poster, said that it only took him a few hours to complete his poster. Gilbert
Bliss, the designer of the Green Bay Packer poster, said that his poster came out better than he thought it was going
to. Last, but not least, Ridge Simoneaux, the designer of the Florida Gators poster, said that the reason why he chose
to pick the Florida Gators was because they are his second favorite SEC team. These posters are just a few of all of
the posters made in Mr. Braud’s class. Staff writer—Katie Lively, submitted by Randall David

November, 2009 Horoscopes
AQUARIUS January 20-February 18 : Address joint money matters early in the month, as others you
engage with may be less than cooperative. On the 13th, personal projects get a green light and long-distance
goals are productive. Now that you are freed from complex entanglements, a valuable period dawns, inviting
study and growth; travel plays a part in this process.
ARIES March 21-April 19: Fight selfishness and compromise and you can achieve much at home and at work. If
tenacious, you can resolve a long-standing professional dilemma, leaving you free to enjoy an upsurge in your social
life and romance. On the 29th, you'll learn the difference between people who are deserving of devotion and those
who are not.
GEMINI May 21-June 21: Domestic challenges are ending, and you can now work to finally resolve these issues.
The rewards you receive are equal to the effort you put in. You squander your talent by indulging in too many
ventures at once. To enjoy their successful fruition, learn to concentrate on fewer objectives. A mature attitude
toward romance is worth it.
LEO July 23-August 22: While you are preoccupied with romantic possibilities, a tricky financial situation sneaks
up on you. The 10th brings the drive to achieve what you want, but ensure that it's also what you need. Shrewd
intelligence and charm help you wisely network and problem-solve at month's end. Anticipate a period when cash
headaches ease.
LIBRA September 23-October 22: Work done behind the scenes can secure a successful project launch. A playful
streak needs to be indulged and romance can begin to unfold, but draw boundaries if someone oversteps the mark
midmonth. The 29th ushers in a long period when tenacity, patience, and doing what's necessary in life bring
satisfying and enduring, if not instant, rewards.
SAGITTARIUS November 22-December 21: For months, you have felt discontented at work, but this is easing
up and you will realize that what you've done has real value. Meet a final career challenge around the 13th to make
way for a better professional future. Celebrate love, life, and friendship in the last two weeks of the month. Get
revitalized by taking a trip.
PISCES February 19- March20: You will get relief from recent relationship troubles late in the month, but before
then important and loving negotiations help clear the air. You need to become more self-sufficient with your finances.
Release from an oppressive situation is imminent. This new freedom tastes sweet, provided you use caution.
TAURUS April 20-May 20: Early in the month, indulge your extra sensuality and pamper yourself. Be aware of
your power to enrich connections with partners and offspring. Loyalty and love can combine now to lift relationships
to a higher level. A lengthy period of work commitment along with self-discipline will secure lasting success.
CANCER June 22-July 22: Before the 16th, you can impress at work by demonstrating powers of subtle but
effective leadership. Your sexual charisma gets you noticed and awakens you to what is needed to sort out your
relationships. Late in the month, enjoy your favorite place, home. It is where you nurture partners and optimize your
bottom line.
VIRGO August 23-September 22: You have endured a difficult few years, but they have strengthened your life.
Until the 14th, you are blessed with style and allure, but don't assume you can second-guess everyone, especially
around the 9th. At the close of the month, bosses may be generous and your bank balance boosted, but serious focus
is needed. It will pay off.
SCORPIO October 23-November 21:Travel looks great before the 16th, as is an ability to star in a collaboration
in which your advice will be sought, so be thoughtful and balanced. Later, overt ambition may threaten colleagues; be
sure to tread lightly. In the months ahead, avoid being too proud to share problems and accept that achievements do
not need fanfare.
Happy
Thanksgiving

Dear Captain Obvious,
I am a new student at PHS, and I am having trouble making friends. I hardly ever go out at
lunch. I try to find a teacher who will let me eat in their room, or I sit alone at a table in the cafe-
teria. I am a shy person, but I really want to make friends so that I will have someone to talk to
and do things with after school. I am from another state, and my family doesn’t know many peo-
ple either. How can I make friends without seeming too eager? I don’t want people to think that I
have no friends. They may think I am a loser.

Dear Lonely,
It’s always hard to make friends when you’re the new kid, especially when you’re shy. A way you
can slowly overcome your shyness is being more talkative and active in class, so that you’re not
afraid of talking around people. If you want to make friends, talk to people with similar interests
as you, whether it’s a sport or book or movie. Talk to someone that likes this thing
about how you like this thing and it will start a conversation. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Captain Obvious
