Major Components of the Project

• Road leading to the village was developed• A mud-colored gateway was erected at the village’s

entrance• A parking lot having capacity for 500 cars was

constructed • A nullah passing through the village was transformed

into a stream of clear water• Dilapidated commercial and residential units in the

village were demolished and reconstructed• Some of the village buildings were renovated

• The village has a Hindu temple and a Sikh shrine side by side. Both these buildings were given an uplift.

• Another building was converted into a photo gallery containing photographs of the village’s and Islamabad’s history.

• The temple initially housed a government high school. When the temple was to be renovated as a part of this project, another building for the school was constructed near the village.

• A wooden kiosk, nomad gallery, arts and crafts shops and food outlets like The Hot Spot, Des Pardes and Village View were opened in the village as a part of this project

Economic problem• The project has enhanced village surroundings aesthetically but it has done little to help the villagers economically• The sales of local vendors have not improved and employment is also not awarded to locals

Lack of basic facilities • Villagers are unable to find space to park their vehicles• No supply of natural gas and health care facilities in the village

RULES AND REGULATION • Proper policies and rules and regulations should be

formulated for the opening of commercial outlets in the area

• Rules and regulations should also be formulated regarding the reconstruction and maintenance of houses and shop

• Compensation should be given to villagers

SECURITY CHECKS• Proper arrangements should be made to ensure the

security of the tourist spot • Security check points should be established in the village

MAINTENANCE• Sanitary staff should be engaged for the proper

maintenance of the tourist spot• An important improvement in the village can be a kids

playing area and a hiking track

CONCLUSION

•The village displays the real culture and tradition of Pakistan to the tourists

•But it should be maintained well by CDA

•The CDA must also fulfill its responsibility towards the residents
