Chemical Industries in Bangladesh•As Bangladesh is a developing country and was independent in

1971 so, there are a few chemical industries in Bangladesh.•Most of the industries were developed in Pakistan period and

after independence these industries were owned by the Government of Bangladesh.

•Beside these industries, several types of chemical industries were developed in Bangladesh under the Government sector, Public sector and private sector.

Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC)•BCIC is fully owned by the Government.•It was established in July, 1976 by a presidential Order.•The Corporation is now managing 13 large and medium size

industries.•The industries is producing a wide range of products like Urea,

TSP, DAP, Paper, Cement, Glass sheet, Hardboard, Sanitary ware & Insulator etc.

CHITTAGONG UREA FERTILIZER LTD•Located at Rangadia, Thana-Anwara, District-Chattagong•Established in 1987•Produce 5,61,000 metric tonnes per year

•Located at Ashugonj in the District of Brahmanbaria•Established in 1981
