INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
Ø Natural fiber reinforced polymer matrix compositesare very sensitive to environment. This can berecognized in the composite and can be advantageouslyutilized for the development of biological degradablecomposites.
Ø Hybridization of natural fiber with stronger and morecorrosion-resistance synthetic fiber, for example, glassfiber or carbon fiber can improve the stiffness, strength,as well as moisture resistant behavior of the composites
and hence a balance between environmental impact and performance could be achieved.

ØIn this research, the study focuses on the investigation of theeffect of erosion testing for different parameters and their effect
on mechanical properties by alternate stacking of glass andsugarcane fibers .
ØTo study how effective the fabrication was on its mechanical anderosion properties with respect to the regular glass fiber
composite.Ø
ØThus with this study the extent of applicability of hybrid over synthetic and natural fibers for making
Pipelines, automobile interiors, structural fields large
marine applications, land transport application such as rail coach parts, conveyor belts, and multi leaf springs and storage tanks.

ØThe natural fiber reinforced composites are reasonablystrong (Though lower than that of Synthetic fibers)
light weight
free from health hazardsbiodegradable.
ØLimitations:-
lower moduluspoor moisture resistance to absorptionlow strength.

ADVANTAGE OF HYBRIDIZATIONADVANTAGE OF HYBRIDIZATION
ØThe properties of the natural fiber reinforced composites can be improved byhybridizing with high strength synthetic fibers.
ØThe concept of hybridization gives flexibility to the design engineer to tailor the material properties according to the requirements, which is one of the major
advantages of the composites.
ØInterspersing the two or more kinds of fiber in a single matrix forms thehybrid composites.

LITERATURE REVIEWLITERATURE REVIEW
ØEL-Tayebstates in this investigation that abrasive wear behavior of sugarcanereinforced fiber is much influenced by the length of fiber(chopped), it is sensitiveto variation of normal load and wear is less for long fibers.
“Abrasive wear performance of untreated sugarcane fibre reinforced polymer composite”, journal on material processing technology,206(2008)305-314.
Ø EL-Tayebstates in this investigation that sugarcane fiber reinforced polyesters composite offer a good degree of wear resistance and frictioncoefficient compare to GRP when sliding against stainless steel.

tribologicalapplications” , WEAR - 265 (2008) 223-235.

ØEL-Tayeb states in this investigation that chopped sugar cane fiber-reinforced polyester composite with 5mm fiber length is most favorable
among 1mm and 10mm because it gives wear resistance highest amongstthem. He further states that thickness of the fiber also contributes to the wear resistance.
“Two body abrasive behavior of untreated sugarcane and reinforced glass fibers polyester composites”, WEAR 266(2009)220-232
ØEL-Tayebstates in this investigation that 5mm fibrelength has 20% - 50%less weight loss. Due to non abrasive nature of SCF it helps to make
protective layers which reduces damage.
“Development and characterization of low cost polymer compositematerials”, journal on material and design,30(2009)1151-1160v
