Dear Parents, Have You Noticed The Main Corridor?
As part of our continual desire to improve our school facilities, the corridor in the main building was painted over the recent break. Our Visual Arts teachers (Mrs Bailey and Miss Caputo) have commenced brightening the corridor with some painting that will move up the corridor to some interesting items around the library and top end of the building that I know will catch the attention of the students.
Through your School Council, we are undertaking to repaint the whole school and Mr Thompson is working with contractors to gain suitable pricing for this major school facility improvement. The external areas have been completed and the main corridor as mentioned. Further quotes are being obtained for the remainder of the internal areas of the school to be completed over the next few years. ICAS and AMC Testing Now that the testing has been completed for these competitions, there are some overall awards given to students who have excelled in each field. I would like to congratulate the following students who were awarded a Principal’s Award for their outstanding achievements during the ICAS tests. These certificates were presented at last week’s assembly. Book Fair Please read the flyer later on in the Valley Views with all the details, but I wish to thank the community for really getting behind the Book Fair and selecting some fantastic reading material for your children. As stated due to the amount received we will be able to choose $2490 worth of books to upgrade the students’ choices of reading material in the school library. 2017 Enrolments – Are You Leaving? We have seen information coming to the office through this reminder so please keep it coming so we will have accurate numbers to plan for 2017. We are well into planning mode for 2017 and need to have a correct estimate of the enrolments we will have next year to obviously ensure our planning is accurate and we have the relevant numbers of staff on board. So I would ask you to do the following:
If you have a sibling that is not enrolled as yet please come to the office and complete the enrolment forms. If you know you are leaving and will not be at Kilberry next year please inform the office so we know not to include your children in the planning. If you know of any friends who are still to enrol please strongly encourage them to also come to the office and complete the enrolment forms.
KVPS Carnival Friday 18th November 2.30pm – 6.30pm! Lock in the date for the KVPS Carnival so you are able to come along and bring as many friends as you can. There will be lots of fun to be had so make sure you make arrangements to attend! It’s only a month away! Have a great week and keep smiling!
