Dr James Glynn is a post doctoral energy systems researcher at UCCs Environmental Research Institute's SFI MaREI centre. James' research interests focus on the feedbacks between the energy system and economy, and he researches these dynamics through integrated energy systems models such as Irish TIMES and TIAM, applied to the development of national energy security indices and integrated assessment of climate mitigation. James holds a PhD in Energy Engineering (UCC), an M.Sc. in Energy Systems and the Environment (Strathclyde), an M.A. in Economic and Environmental Modelling (NUIG), and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (NUIG). James has published in energy systems modelling and macroeconomic feedback at national and global scales. He was a government panellist and advisor on energy security and energy poverty strategies for the most recent Irish Energy White Paper. He contributed to the technical modelling for the Irish Low Carbon road map.

Joe O’Carroll oversees the development and delivery of Gaelectric’s pipeline of biomass and solar projects across Ireland, the United Kingdom and further afield. He has over 20 years of senior management experience within the agriculture and energy industries in Ireland, the UK, the USA, Central America and East Africa in both public and private sector organisations. He is a founding Board Member of the Biorefinery & Bioenergy Competence Centre – a national R&D programme funded by the Irish Government to drive bioenergy innovation.
