KOZ Extensions Approved

by their respective taxing

bodies and have been

submitted to Harrisburg

for final approval.

From the Executive Director’s Desk The CDC offices have been buzzing with activity over the past several months.

The CDC staff worked with the Tri-County Workforce Investment Board, CareerLink

and Career T.R.A.C.K, who are tenants in the Pullman Commerce Center (PCC) building, to meet their needs for reduced space. We also assisted Minuteman Press in meeting their expansion needs. There is still space available in the building

although the CDC is working closely with an organization that has interest in the former CareerLink space on the first floor. Please contact our office if you know of

anyone who has a need for leased office space, as we still have approximately 2,500 square feet available.

CDC committees continue to be active as well and the Investor Relations Committee assisted our office in recruiting several new members as noted in this

newsletter. The e-newsletter is now going out to the full CDC membership twice a month and assists our office in keeping members informed of our ongoing activities.

Please take several moments to review the e-newsletters when received and contact the CDC office if you have any questions or suggestions for us.

The Business Outreach Committee in conjunction with Carol Howryla, Manager of Economic Development, reinstituted the Business Outreach program in July. The

initial outreach is focused on existing CDC members/investors. If you would like to meet with a CDC staff member please let Carol or I know and we will be sure to arrange a meeting.

The CDC staff continues to work with local school board members, municipal

officials and the Butler County Commissioners to extend Keystone Opportunity Zones to assist current and prospective business park tenants with their needs for new space and expansion. We are awaiting the final approvals from the

Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development for both the Victory Road Lot Six and Delwood Road properties. More information on the

companies will be released when the sales are finalized; but we can reveal that ten new jobs in Butler Township and seventeen new jobs in Clinton Township will be created. We cannot thank the local taxing bodies enough for their assistance in

making these jobs a reality in Butler County.

It is the time of year that we begin invoicing our members/investors for their annual dues. The CDC reduced its space by moving to 111 Woody Drive in July and we continue to operate as efficiently as possible. We want to thank our existing

members and our CDC Champions for the financial assistance and other non-monetary support they continue to provide. Please attend our “Thank You” event

on November 15th as we celebrate the successes of 2012 and look forward to a brighter 2013. The CDC staff and board appreciate the financial support of each member/investor and your involvement in helping Butler County continue to grow.

Economic Development

Corporation), will become

the new home to a firm

that manufacturers glass

components for the

automotive industry. The

business will initially

employ eight individuals

and the firm’s owners

hope to invest more than

two million dollars in

equipment in the location

over the next three years.

“The new Delwood Road

business is definitely an

asset to the entire

county,” continued

Raybuck. “The business

owner is committed to

establishing a successful

manufacturing facility and

we are excited that he has

selected our county and

we welcome the business

to the Butler County

manufacturing

community.”

An eight acres lot located

in the Victory Road

Business Park also

received an extension to

its Keystone Opportunity

Zone designation. A

manufacturer of

components for the lock

and dam industry will

construct a building on the

premises that will employ

their current 17 member

staff and eventually add

additional fulltime

positions to the Butler

County workforce.

the assistance they

provided to this business

in addressing their

concerns for adequate

electrical service at the

Clinton Township location.

Since the firm is required

to test their components

before they are shipped

this was a primary

concern in determining

where they would locate

and Jeff and FirstEnergy

were instrumental in

working with the company

to answer any questions

they had. This type of

cooperation is necessary

as we work to bring new

businesses to Butler

County,” stated Raybuck.

The paperwork for both

sites has been submitted

to the PA Department of

Community and Economic

Development for their

approval.

It looks like 2012 is

ending on a very positive

note here at the CDC as

these two transactions

appear to be the first of

several that will be

announced before the

year draws to a close.
