Governor Dashboard 2014Key
Stage
2The FFT Governor Dashboard has been produced byFFT, working in partnership with the NationalGovernors’ Association and the Wellcome Trust. Thedashboard helps school governors to hold schools toaccount, support and challenge the leadership teamand make more informed strategic decisions.
The dashboard helps with answering these sixkey questions:
1. How does attainment and pupil progress at myschool compare to the national average?
2. How are we performing in different subjects?
3. Do we have any under-performing groups ofpupils?
4. How might the context of our school affect ourperformance?
5. How does pupil attendance compare to thenational average?
6. What are the strengths and weaknesses of yourschool?
The Governor Dashboard is one part of the FFT Aspire dashboardseries, a set of high quality, simple-to-use reports for schoolleaders, teachers and governors. The dashboards support rigorousself-evaluation, inspection preparation and in-depth planningusing the latest available national data.
Guidance on using the dashboard
these displayheadline indicators andwhether actual results andpupils’ progress are in linewith the national average,or significantly above orbelow the nationalaverage.
these are relative toyour school.
green plus signs ( ) andred minus signs ( ) highlight where either actual results orpupils’ progress is significantly above or below the nationalaverage.
a range of measures such as averagesand thresholds.
a comparison between the actualresults and the FFT estimated attainment based upontypical national progress this year.
for small pupil cohorts we willsuppress the data with an asterisk (*). Where it is notpossible to calculate a figure or if data is not available thiswill be shown by a dash (–).
the dashboard is generated using datafrom FFT Aspire which includes data sourced from the DFE(National Pupil Database) and data calculated by FFT. Theheadline performance indicators will be consistent withRAISEonline and the DFE School Performance tables.
To download other FFT dashboards or view interactive versions foryour school, go to FFT Aspire at . Aspire isFFT’s online reporting system, providing schools with an extendedrange of data to support target-setting and self-evaluation.

Accountability & Ofsted
• No expectation to use a prescribed system for
measuring pupil progress
• Share progress data with inspectors in whatever format
the school is using internally
• Present a brief written summary of their self-evaluation
to inspectors
• Data can be used to ‘Check the robustness and
accuracy of the school’s self-evaluation'
![Page 34: Developing an effective data management system Using · 2016-10-17 · d a sh b o a rd h e lp s sc T ru st. T h e h o o l g o v e rn o rs to h o ld sc h o o ls to a c c o u n t, su](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022041821/5e5de043917f720f593211d1/html5/thumbnails/34.jpg)

• Remember 'no single measure or indicator determines
judgements...’
• Data is used to ‘Check the robustness and accuracy of
the school’s self- evaluation…’
• 'Where numbers of pupils are small and achievement
fluctuates…..consider any available data of aggregated
performance for consecutive cohorts’.
• Triangulate past results / self evaluation with current
pupil progress with classroom evidence
