2The FFT Governor Dashboard has been produced byFFT, working in partnership with the NationalGovernors’ Association and the Wellcome Trust. Thedashboard helps school governors to hold schools toaccount, support and challenge the leadership teamand make more informed strategic decisions.

The dashboard helps with answering these sixkey questions:

1. How does attainment and pupil progress at myschool compare to the national average?

2. How are we performing in different subjects?

3. Do we have any under-performing groups ofpupils?

4. How might the context of our school affect ourperformance?

5. How does pupil attendance compare to thenational average?

6. What are the strengths and weaknesses of yourschool?

The Governor Dashboard is one part of the FFT Aspire dashboardseries, a set of high quality, simple-to-use reports for schoolleaders, teachers and governors. The dashboards support rigorousself-evaluation, inspection preparation and in-depth planningusing the latest available national data.

Guidance on using the dashboard

these displayheadline indicators andwhether actual results andpupils’ progress are in linewith the national average,or significantly above orbelow the nationalaverage.

these are relative toyour school.

green plus signs ( ) andred minus signs ( ) highlight where either actual results orpupils’ progress is significantly above or below the nationalaverage.

a comparison between the actualresults and the FFT estimated attainment based upontypical national progress this year.

the dashboard is generated using datafrom FFT Aspire which includes data sourced from the DFE(National Pupil Database) and data calculated by FFT. Theheadline performance indicators will be consistent withRAISEonline and the DFE School Performance tables.
