● Process has been educational● Why? Scratch an itch, I needed a case
● Got my RPi from QtonPi device program
● Learned new tools● Had multiple Ultimakers available at our
company● My personal ”Friday project”

Learned a lot
● Got familiar repositories filled with ready-made models
● Learned to evaluate what I can print with Ultimaker
● Learned to seek features in models that make it “unfit” to manufacture
● To do design and 3D print does not require hacker skills (common skills enough)

● OpenSCAD (parametric design)● More like fooling around with this
● TinkerCAD (online CAD)● 3DTin (online CAD)● More practise with Blender (CAD-ish app)● Not all were needed, but wanted to test
different things

Resulted to...
● Our family became “3D design & printing” nuts● Kids keep on making more designs● Wife created some “jewelry” models and did
some polishing (ear rings and some other stuff)● Multiple RaspberryPi cases in different colors● Found out that 1.01 scale of one particular 3D
model works best.
