Understand the difference between efficiency and effectiveness:

An inventory of processes makes it much easier to streamline and consolidate processes across the enterprise. For example, the best practice of a team may end up replacing the process department- or enterprise-wide.

Despite widespread excitement surrounding cost reduction, BPMS primarily supports improvements in organizational effectiveness. Effectiveness means improving product quality, reducing delay rates, and reducing cycle times. These changes can lead to cost reductions, but do not directly reduce human resource expense.

Choose your path
