Precisely in difficult harvesting condi-tions is when you want a quality combine harvester to prove its efficiency. Thanks to their unbeatable cutting precision and operation, the bars of the 56 series are also effective when harvesting lod-ged crops. The auto-control system au-tomatically manages the movements of the cutting bars which are up to 6.3 m wide. Cutting height, lateral inclination and bearing pressure on the ground are constantly monitored.

other foreign bodies. The reel speed is proportional to the forward speed which provides a consistent and regular regular feed to the cutter bar; the intake auger with a diameter of 610 mm and the teeth arranged into a spiral along the entire width can convey enormous amounts of product to the intake elevator. A powerful electric reverser eliminates overload.

Crop elevator.The elevator of the 5660 HTS Climber allows perfect balance of the combine harvester in all working conditions. Mo-reover its length allows perfect control of the bar even on the steepest downhill tracts.The auger with 16 mm Ø teeth allows you to regulate product flow. Moreover,

because of its sturdiness, it does not require modifications for harvesting corn.The two lifting cylinders with nitrogen shock absorbers can handle heavier equipment and absorb peak loads, whether you are on the field or on the road. This allows working in top comfort while keeping the combine harvester chassis protected.

The skids allow the cutter bar to faithfully follow the contours of the ground and by using the auto-control system, instantly correct the header height.

Thanks to the planetary transmission and a cutting frequency of 1,220 strokes/min, the cutting is always rapid and precise in all kinds of harvesting conditions.

The alternately mounted blades reduce wear and always ensure an optimum cut.

The feeding roller allows a constant flow of product to the elevator even on the steepest downhill slopes and when the straw is short.

The exclusive DEUTZ-FAHR leveling sy-stem allows maximum performance on all slopes.The excellent combination of the leveling system, the four-wheel drive and the electronic system that monitors all the functions allows the combine harvester to always reach the maximum of its ca-pacity to the full advantage of yield and low running costs.

The sturdy 25-ton reduction gears have a reduction ratio of 11:1. This minimizes stress on the transmission and reduces fuel consumption.The optimal ratios of the four speed gear-box make it possible to always adapt the forward speed to slope and terrain condi-tions. The hydrostatic drive system, with a pump and a 135 cc motor, allows suf-ficient power to the wheels while keeping a reserve of torque for overcoming the

most difficult slopes. The brakes mounted on the reduction ge-ars allow you to easily slow the combine harvester down on steep downhill tracts and ensure maximum safety in all con-ditions.

With the 56 series of combine har-vesters, DEUTZ-FAHR developed the modern threshing system that provides quality work and superior performance. It is sturdy, reliable, highly productive and capable of carefully handling the product during the separation of the grain. This system meets the maximum require-ments of quality crops. The automatic torque-controlled V-belt tension ensures full power is possible at all times. By using the threshing drum variator, which is electrically regulated, you can set speeds of 420-1,250 RPM by simply pressing a pushbutton. The threshing drum and rear beater rotate synchronously. When the speed of the threshing drum varies, the speed of the second drum also varies (with a ratio of 1:1.1). This way you pro-tect the straw and do not break the crop. With the independent control of the con-

cave intake and outlet, you can electrical-ly set the most favorable adjustment for each type of crop, and also rapidly elimi-nate any overload. Certain types of crops are difficult to separate and these can be threshed with the help of de-awner bars easily inserted from outside by means of a convenient handle. The concave wrap angle of 121° and the 15 bars allow you to obtain a large separation area for the concave: 0.92m2. This permits a nearly total separation of the grain with a very small percentage of short straw.

Turbo-separator: for ToP performances The turbo-separator allows separation without slowing down the work pace, even when the straw is green, heavy or moist and when crops are badly infested with weeds. The third drum makes it possi-ble to increase productivity up to 20 %.

It can be set to 5 different positions (25-65 mm) and always obtains a complete separation without damaging the straw. The long open-type straw walkers avoid overload in moist crops and the grain return shelf allows a continuous flow of product to the sieves.

The DEUTZ-FAHR built-in straw chopper is operated from the cab and spreads the straw evenly across the entire us-able width. The changeover from straw chopping to swathing is done in one easy operation.

The counter knife settings can be quickly changed to suit a wide variety of crops and crop conditions. For maintenance of the straw chopper, it can easily be tilted forward to provide complete access to the cutting assembly.

When the straw chopper is disengaged, the gentle threshing of the crop results in excellent quality long straw that is easy to bale.

The oscillating preparation pan brings a layered product that is ready for cleaning to the sieves; moreover, maintenance is easy because the pan can be removed from the front part of the combine har-vester. The sieving system with a large surface (5.28 m2), the tangential flow

turbine fitted with 44 vanes, the double step with a pre-sieving function provide perfectly clean grain. The exclusive in-dependent double returns system even-ly spreads the crop on the preparation pan and thereby avoids overloads to the threshing system. If any ears are not

threshed, they can be treated by means of two re-threshers located in the returns system. These allow you to bring com-pletely separated grain to the preparati-on pan. The re-threshers are fitted with friction plates that are interchangeable and specific to the various crops so that

DCR (DEUTZ Common-Rail)The DEUTZ Common-Rail system has a special feature consisting of two oil-bath feed pumps and a dispenser valve that prevents fuel return to the tank. The for-mer feature makes for absolute reliability because the pumps are not lubricated by the fuel and therefore do not depend on its quality.The latter prevents the fuel from overhe-ating and affecting the effi ciency of the engine.Moreover the injectors are electronically controlled so injection is regulated as a function of engine load.

The CommanderCab IV offers truly unique driving pleasure. The sense of well-being starts in the comfortable seat with a pneumatic suspension and a built-in arm-rest. The pleasure continues with the er-gonomic CommanderStick which has all the driving and control functions on it. All the control elements, switches and con-trol instruments are grouped according to their function on the right-hand console, conveniently accessible and easy to ope-rate. Moreover they are illuminated for nighttime use.

Driver well-being.The CommanderCab IV is suspended on flexible mountings at four points that pre-vent all vibrations and oscillations. The new CCM (Combine Control Management) console groups the various functions of the machine for better control. In addition to the usual alarm signals, the new onboard computer sitting right by the operator pro-vides the following functions: tachometer, grain loss and returns, hectare counter with cutting bar dividing function, hour me-ter for the engine and threshing system, engine load and cutting height indicator.
