We look forward to welcoming you to this year’s Land Rover Polo in the City at Albert Park on Saturday 30 November.

Unlike spring racing events, polo is somewhat of a more casual affair and not as formal, but elegance is still key. Think ladylike, skip the stilettos (they’re no friend of the field – a block or a wedge are suitable options. and give sequins and fascinators a miss.

Seeing the polo is predominantly played during the spring and summer months, fashion should be more about light fabrics, separates, maxi dresses, lace, jumpsuits and shirts. In terms of footwear, ladies should opt for chic wedges, flats or platforms. Accessories at the polo are key, and a fabulous bag and bold pair of sunglasses can be a fun way to make a statement. It’s important not to go for headwear that’s overly fussy - something that’s a little more casual and protects you from the sun is perfect.

The appropriate headwear would be a straw or wide-brimmed hat.

Polo is an all-weather sport and will proceed in sun or rain, unless the weather becomes so severe that it poses a danger to players, horses or guests. If what we call perfect ‘English Polo Weather’ materialises, and rain is inevitable, we advise you dress for warmth and comfort, wear appropriate footwear (such as Wellies), and bring an umbrella. In the meantime, below is some wet weather inspiration for you.
