XAT Eligibility, Pattern, and Exam Date
Eligibility• A candidate must have completed his/her Bachelor’s degree (at least 3 years duration or
equivalent) in any discipline. People who are to complete their final degree exam by 10-06-2016
are also eligible to apply.
• NRI and Foreign candidates may apply with GMAT scores. However, people who are in Dubai
and Kathmandu need to sit for the XAT 2016 exam, as they have an option to write the test.
Exam Pattern• There is no pattern change in XAT exam.
• It is a paper-pen based exam, which consists of two papers –
• Paper I
• Paper II.
• Exam mode of XAT is kept as paper-based test.
• Students will be gauged based on their performance on the same set of questions.
Exam Pattern•XAT exam basically tests a candidate on the following components-
• Quantitative Ability
• English Language & Logical Reasoning
• Decision Making
• GK
• Essay
Exam Pattern• If you look at the Paper I of XAT exam, there are a total of 84 questions which is divided into
three sections.
• Section A – Verbal and Logical Ability (28 questions)
• Section B – Decision Making and Analytical Reasoning (23 questions)
• Section C – Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (33 questions)
XAT 2016 Exam DatesApplication process begins 4th September, 2015
Last date for applying 30th November, 2015
Last date to change test city 26th November, 2015
E-admit card download available 20th – 31st December, 2015
Date exam 3rd January, 2016
Test timings 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
