Abstract

The detachable-mouse comes in various ergonomic shapes that fit into the variouscorresponding accommodating grooves in the (detachable-mouse-accommodating)-computer. The detachable-mouse as any regular mouse may connect to the(detachable-mouse-accommodating)-computer with a retractable elastic cord or byapplicable wireless means. For laptops, notebooks or such similar computers-types,the detachable-mouse fits right after the touchpad. Thus while still attached, thedetachable-mouse buttons serve their usual purpose for selection while thetouchpad serves for cursor navigation the left-click-button selection. And whendetached the detachable-mouse and its buttons serves as a regular mouse forcursor navigation and selection, while the touchpad still serves for cursor navigation

and the left-click-button selection. The detachable mouse may slide in and out of the groove meant to accommodate it, or it may be detached and attached by anyother preferable method. Apparently the detachable-mouse is one integrated intothe design of a computer unlike a regular mouse that is external to computers.

Claim

What is claimed is:

1. As any regular mouse, the detachable-mouse has buttons and otheraccompanying effects, and it also works as well as comes in various shapes,preferably ergonomic shapes; as any regular mouse connects to the(detachable-mouse-accommodating)-computer with a detachable retractableelastic cord and or by applicable wireless means: The detachable-mouse-accommodating-computer has a groove shaped to accommodate thedetachable-mouse in the shape it comes in: The groove that accommodatesthe detachable-mouse has a mechanism to release and hold the detachable-mouse when being detached or attached respectively to the detachable-mouse-accommodating-computer; the mechanism may be similar to thatused in detaching and attaching laptop covers and bases.

2. The detachable-mouse as claimed in claim 1, like any regular mouse, mayconnect to the (detachable-mouse-accommodating)-computer with aretractable elastic cord and or by applicable wireless means: And as forlaptops, notebooks or such similar computer-types, the detachable-mouse asclaimed in claim 1, fits into the accommodating groove of the detachable-mouse-accommodating-computer right after the touchpad.

3. The buttons of the detachable-mouse as claimed in claim 1, serve their usualpurpose for selection when the detachable-mouse is still attached to thedetachable-mouse-accommodating-computer; while the touchpad serves for



cursor navigation, for laptops, notebooks and or such similar computer-types:And when detached, the detachable-mouse as claimed in claim 1, with itsbuttons and other accompanying effects, serves as a regular mouse forcursor navigation and selection, while the touchpad still serves for cursornavigation and the left-click-button selection.

Description

Field of the invention: The present invention relates to better cursor navigation forany computer-type with detachable-mouse built in; making the use of an externalmouse unnecessary, with negligible or no increase in production cost for computerbrands that adopt the present invention, while also making users of the presentinvention not to worry about buying and or forgetting an external mouse.

Brief description of prior art: Conventionally, there are two different ways toperform cursor navigation of a computer, which are using a regular mouse, and atouch sensitive interactive interface attached or built into the computer, e.g. thetouchpad, touch screen with or without a stylus etc. Both methods aforementionedare found to have their respective disadvantages, especially for laptops, notebooksand such similar computer-types.

Using a touchpad takes more time to cursor navigate the computer, and thecomputer cannot be used efficiently; because the user has to hit and or slide his/herfinger(s) on the touchpad for a relatively short distance frequently: Using a touchscreen with or without a stylus is not as consistently reliable as using a mouse;besides there are several operations easier and best executed using a mouse.

Using a regular mouse external to the computer obviously may require purchasingand definitely requires carrying it around along with the computer; and whenforgotten the user would not be able to use it.

Summary of the present invention

The present invention is conceived to overcome the drawbacks of theaforementioned conventional methods of cursor navigation of a computer. Thepresent invention would afford computer brands a fair portion of the monies andprofit that are made by external mouse brands; and this with little increase incomputer production cost. The present invention is more portable and stylish forcomputer users to move around and cursor navigate with, among other apparentand yet unknown advantages.

Drawings: A laptop is merely used in the drawings for the purpose of illustrating thepresent invention, being as the accommodating computer may be a notebook, orany computer-type to which the present invention may apply, especially those withtouchpad.
