What is the history of Desuggestopedia?

• Desuggestopedia one of the strangest “humanistic approaches” was developed in the 1970’s by the Bulgarian educator Georgi Lozanov. Lozanov believed that learning can occur at a much faster rate than ordinarily transpires. Desuggestopedia was called suggestopedia. This change happened to reflect the importance placed on desuggesting limitation on learning. Desuggestopedia is the application of the study of suggesting and pedagogy which has been developed to help student eliminate the feeling that they cannot be successful. This method helps the student to overcome the negative association they may have toward studying and the barriers to learning. Also, memorization in learning through this approach would be accelerated by up to 25 times over that in conventional learning methods. (Taghreed, 2012)
