• “Destiny:IMAGINATIONisageneralenrichmentopportunitypresentedbyDistrict102andopentoALLinterestedstudentswhowillbeingrades1-5nextyear!

• Beingveryawareoftoday’scosts,District102continuestoofferDestiny:IMAGINATIONataveryaffordableratewhencomparedtolocalsummerproviders.ThecostofDestiny:IMAGINATIONincludesmostmaterials.Certifiedteachers,para-educators,andhighschool/collegestudentsstaffDestiny:IMAGINATION.

GRADESREFERTONEXTSCHOOLYEAR(2019-2020)• Giventhenatureoftheclassesandthestudentsserved,averyhighlevelofbehavioral

WhatisDestiny:IMAGINATION?“Destiny:IMAGINATION”wascreatedinSummer2016.Itisanexcitingsummerofferingforstudentsmovingintogrades1-5nextschoolyear(2018-2019.)ThegoalofDestiny:IMAGINATIONistopromoteanidentityofbeingscholarlythroughafoundationofessentialskillsusedtothinkcreativelyandcritically.Integratedinter-disciplinarythemesthatweredevelopedbyD102staff(Mrs.Raggio&Dr.Lange)fosteropen-endedthinkingwillbethespringboardfordiscussions,makingconnections,publicspeaking,producingoriginalworks,collaboratingwithotherscholars,andmostimportantly,havingFUN.Inadditiontothevaryingfocusthemes,gradelevelmathematicsandgameswillbeincludedinDestiny:IMAGINATION.Technologyisusedasatooltosupportthegoalsofthisexperience.PleasenoteSTEMCampregistrationpriorityisgiventostudentswhoenrollinDestiny:IMAGINATION,Destiny:Supernova,orDestiny:Sunburst.Thereareseveraloptionsforparticipation,butwetrulyhopethatyourchild(ren)willbeabletotakeadvantageofALLFIVEWEEKSwithSTEMCamp.(Informationonthiscampisonpage5.)Destiny:IMAGINATIONwillbeengagingandenriching.ItisopentoALLinterestedstudents!WhatisSTEMCamp?STEMCampisanexciting,veryactiveeventbasedontheideaofexposingandeducatingstudentsinfourspecificdisciplines—science,technology,engineeringandmathematics.Ratherthanteachthesefourdisciplinesasseparateanddiscretesubjects,STEMCampwillintegratethemthroughreal-worldapplicationsandtools.Thegoalistomakeitasmuchofaninterdisciplinaryandappliedapproachaspossible.WewanttointroduceSTEMinaveryhands-onandfunmannertohopefullysparkapassionforscience,technology,engineering,andmathematicsinYOU!
