1. DESTIN-AIR-TION
1.1 AN INTRODUCTION TO DESTIN-AIR-TION
Destin-Air-tion is an in-flight entertainment game that focuses on the player’s
dexterity to stabilize the plane through turbulence and gain passenger
satisfaction points to buy items through the in-game shop.
GAME OBJECTIVE
The objective of the game is to score as many satisfaction points by
stabilizing the plane through all the obstacles (turbulence) in the given
distance.
GAMEPLAY
Players will have to press the left an right button to stabilize the ball in the middle
zone which holds the highest points. Power ups are also given whereby they can use
to counter the obstacles that are present in the game.
1.2 DIGITAL TO ANALOG CONVERSION
As we need to convert the digital game to an Analog Version (paper prototype)
we focused on the game mechanics and the feel of the game to make it as
similar as possible to the digital version.
The rest of the Game Design Document will explain on the Analog Version on
why the game mechanics and game play is finalized as that.

3. DOCUMENTATION
1.3 IDEATION PROCESS (INSPIRATION)
The core mechanic of the digital version of Destin-Air-tion is to stabilize the ball in
the middle zone to get as many points as possible by pressing the left and right
button.
From the gameplay concept of Destin-Air-tion, we modified the game so that the
digital game can be converted into a board game and be as similar as possible.

1.4 Iterations
1.4.1 Iteration One
Considering the core mechanics, we transcribe the digital game into a board
game. The board game is made with some slight changes therefore it will not
stray too far from the digital game.
Changes Included:
- Power ups removed
- Satisfaction points renamed as points
- Passengers’ complains/Steward, Stewardess removed
- Distance changed to Timing

1.4.2 Iteration Two
Continuing with the same gameplay concept, but added more features
into the board game.
Changes included:- Changed bottom layer with plastic bags to have a pull for the
turbulence rather than having a maze like structure
- Added a single handle to make it more challenging
*After all the iterations, we’ve deci ded to continue with Iteration 2 and improve
the game based on that.
Iteration 2 is the finalised one for the game.
Plastic bag for the marbles to
fall in so that the weight
collected in the plastic bags
can simulate as turbulence to
challenge the player.
Handle for the player to
hold on and play our
game.

4 GAME OVERVIEW
4.1 Game Concept
The game concept is based on the in-flight game theme. The objective of the
game is to score satisfaction points by stabilizing the plane through turbulencethat will shake the plane.
4.2 Asset List
These are the components of the game:
1. Marbles
2. 30cm x 32cm game board
3. 15cm x 20cm housing box for the marble
4.3 Target Audience and Rationale
The target age group that we chose for this game is people between the age
of 5 and above and also the passengers of the plane. This is because our
game is easy to understand and play making it applicable to everybody that
will come across the game.
Rationale
The physical ways of playing Destin-Air-tion can be challenging and fun. Thepurpose of the analog version is to test out the digital game mechanics and
see if there is any loopholes.

5 GAMEPLAY AND MECHANICS
5.1 Gameplay
5.1.1 Objectives
The objectives of the game are simple which is to balance the indicator
marble on the blue zone for as long as possible for 3 minutes and at every
15 seconds, satisfaction points will be recorded on where the marble is
stationed at. Points will be added up and finalised.
5.1.2 Objectives
The mechanic for this game is to move the board as the player only needs to
balance the indicator marble on the blue zone throughout the time given.
5.1.3 Decision Tree
Stabilizing Movement of board
Blue Zone Green Zone Yellow Zone Orange Zone Red Zone
*Player will decide where he/she
