    INTRODUCTION

Desiccant cooling technology is required to

achieve the target 70% in integrated cooling,

    heating, and power systems.

Desiccant cooling is a potentially clean

technology, used to condition the internal

environment of buildings and operateswithout the harmful refrigerants.

It has the ability to provide efficient indoor

humidity and temperature control, alsoreducing the electrical energy requirement.

solar energy as input for Air conditioning, wecan resolve the both problems of Cooling

    requirement and fuel consumption.

    SUMMARY OF THE

    INVENTION

Desiccant cooling is an open heat drivencycle, which uses a desiccant wheel andwheel exchanger in tandem to achieve both

    cooling and dehumidification.

Desiccant materials, which absorb moisture, can be dried, or regenerated, by adding heatsupplied by the sun.

A wheel that contains a desiccant turns

slowly to pick up humidity from incomingair and discharge that humidity to the

outdoors. Desiccant cooling can also be

used in tandem with an conventional airconditioning system in which the

desiccant removes humidity and the AC

system provides cooling, and in energy

recovery ventilators (ERV) to dehumidifyincoming fresh air in the summer.

An air conditioning system that can be

driven by solar energy. A solar collectorused energy from the sun to evaporate

water from a desiccant fluid. The desiccant

fluid is then flows into a mass transfer

device which removes moisture from an airstream.

Electric or fuel backup can be used withthis system to regenerate the desiccant

    material

    CONCLUSION

    Expensive

Not as efficient as a classic installations

Better environmental impact DEC system can be effective in terms of

    energy consumption and indoor comfort

    Energy savings whole year operation
