Evaluating the chosen design

My chosen design is Design 1. I choose it because it is my favourite design, which has a

clear storyline and meets all the specifications. This design gives a clear description of the

percutaneous coronary intervention, showing its advantages by comparing it with the other

similar technologies, and it also remembers not to talk about another technology in details,

otherwise it will make the audience fell confused. Moreover, I think Design 1 is a good

choice for me to make my product, because it is introducing the technology through a story,

instead of just give scientific explanations of the use of the chosen technology. Furthermore,

this design includes a combination of text, images, and animation, which will make the

product much more interesting.

Aiming to create a better product, I also decide to put some elements from the other

three designs into Design 1. For example, I would like to use a rule of narrator in the story to

explain to the audience in a more direct way, just like what I did in Design 3. Furthermore, I

might use one person’s point of view to make the audience identify with the characters, as

the method I utilised in Design 4. According to me, all four of my designs could be improved

much more; nevertheless, I think Design 1 I the best one in these four, and perhaps I can still

keep the advantages of the other three, trying to put them into Design 1, if they will fit. I will

try to keep developing my chosen design till the day I start to film it.

This is a Gantt chart which aims to show how I will organise the time for my designs and

the product. In the left hand side of the Gantt Chart, I have listed 27 different tasks. Those

are the important tasks that I need to do in this section. Moreover, the small red bars are

showing the starting time, finishing time, and duration for each of the tasks. From the Gantt

Chart, it is easy to see that I plan to spend 12 hours on actually making the product; and it

will takes me about 25 hours to finish the whole section of work. The reason why I make this

Gantt Chart is that it presents the time which I should take to finish the product, reminding

me about every small sections in this stage, and it can help me to get myself organised. The

Gantt Chart reminds me about the process rate.

In the Step-by-step plan, I have set the date for accomplishing the various tasks; and I

have again mentioned the durations. In the date column, I have also shown that whether the

task should be done in lessons or at home. Regarding the tasks, different from the one I had

in the Gantt Chart, here I have explained each of my tasks in more details, trying to write up

a procedure for them in which is aimed to help me have a better understanding of what I

need to do while I am actually creating the product. For the tools, I have listed all the

programme and software that I will need for that particular task; I also put the materials I

will going to use, such as camera, notebook and paper. I think my Step-by-step plan is clear

and precise; and I will be able to follow my plan to create a good product.

This is not my exactly original plan; I have made some changes after the lesson I started

to make my product, because I realised that my invited actors were my parents, who really

could not help me film it during lesson times. Therefore I had to rearrange my time plan and

move all the filming parts to my own time. And then I put some other works which would

last less time than filming into those days that I would have lessons. Therefore, my present

Step-by-step plan is the above one, which I am now very pleased with. If I could improve it

more, perhaps I will write more details about the tasks, and maybe give more time to film

Scene 4 and Scene 5, which I think that the time is a little bit pressing.
