Birch Tree Dental is an ideology to change the practice of dentistry by It encompasses strategies that are derived from the findings of supportive design, Attention Restoration Theory and biophilic design. High priority is given to how the environment affects the stress levels of the patients and dental team. Birch Tree Dental serves as a prototype for an effectively designed dental office that has the capacity to minimize stress and create a positive experience.

VERSUS

The adaptive reuse project of an existing warehouse building on the Washington State University campus in Spokane, WA is renovated to be a museum/art gallery that features a permanent art collection and accommodates temporary fine art exhibits. The design also features the building itself as a work of art that visitors and even people passing by can explore through.

A three day site visit deeply immersed in rural Endicott, Washington exploring relationships through architectural mapping that best captures the experiential qualities of the place.

S I T E P H O T O G R A P H Y Dioramas were developed based on observations that captured the specific atmosphere of the site, and revealed subjective and subconscious qualities. The dioramas served as an art installation piece to raise money for the town’s new library.
