ABOUT US Established in Australia for more than 25 years Newport
Custom Shutters are both designers and manufacturers of
quality custom made shutters and blinds. Originally based
in Newport Beach in Southern California, before returning to
Australia in 1988 to build their own purpose built factory in
South East Queensland. Newport has been the market leader
in bringing you quality shutters made from the very best of
materials, from the initial design through to the installation
the pride of craftsmanship will be most evident. Newport
is proud to offer the industries largest selection of different

AUSTrAliAN mAdE Newport Custom Shutters premium cedar range is manufactured
and painted entirely in house at Newport’s purpose built factory,
just as it has been for more than 25 years.
PrECiSiONNewport shutters are all constructed utilising a state-of-the-
art “Biesse” Computer Numerical Control (CNC) workstation.
This computer controlled system allows design accuracy to
1000th’s of a millimeter.
WESTErN rEd CEdAr Custom made Western red Cedar interior shutters by
Newport are an Australian made product, utilizing first grade
air-dried plantation grown Western red Cedar sourced
from North America. This timber is renowned for structural
stability and therefore allows for a broader manufacturing
specification – for example panels can be made wider or
taller than usual, without requiring a midrail. Western red
Cedar is very lightweight with excellent thermal and acoustic
properties. Western red Cedar is available in a large selection
of finishes including oiled, stained and painted.

SPECiAlTy SHAPESShutter panels can be made to suit a variety of shapes
including; portholes, raked, archways and sunbursts.

lacquered finishes – customised to your exact decorating
requirements.
WESTErN rEd CEdAr SPECiFiCATiONS
TilTrOdSTraditionally mounted in the centre of the panel – side
mount, or concealed tiltbars are also popular choices –
allowing easier cleaning and a less interrupted view. Tiltrods
are manufactured from select hardwood and secured to the
shutter blades by stainless steel staples. This system was
developed for commercial applications and is now available
on every Newport shutter.
Tiltrod options are Centre, Side or Concealed.

HArdWOOdNewport’s experience as a shutter manufacturer has allowed
them to source an imported product that they feel is the best
imported product available. These shutters feature the use of
hardwood timber with fluted mortise and tenon joints. This
all timber construction is laminated utilising reverse grain
technology to maintain structural stability. Newport’s imported
hardwood range allows for a more economical option.

SyNTHETiCOur synthetic shutters have the look and feel of wood, but
posses qualities unique to plastics.
They are manufactured from polymer foam – a solid, material.
This material is water resistant and very durable, making
it ideal for both internal and external applications such as
bathroom, kitchens and balconies.

EXTEriOr WESTErN rEd CEdArWestern red Cedar exterior shutters by Newport are an Australian made product, utilizing first
grade air-dried Western red Cedar. This timber is renowned for structural stability and therefore

properties. All shutters are treated utilizing exterior primers and paints.
AlUmiNiUmAluminium shutters by Newport are suited to our harsh
Australian environmental conditions. The adjustable tilt
design allows you to shut out the sun and wind. A wide range
of powdercoat colours (including woodgrain finishes) are
available.

vENETiAN BliNdS Newport’s venetian range now offers a choice of materials to
select from, including Western red Cedar, Hardwood timber,
or Composite. All blinds feature the latest headbox design
