Quotes on design to show how we live, how we dream, and how we think. “Principles for the Develop-ment of a Complete Mind: Study the science of art. Study the art of science. Develop your senses- especially learn how to see. Realize that everything con-nects to everything else.”

Leonardo da Vinci

“Technology alone is not enough. It is technology married with the liberal arts married with the humanitiesthat make our hearts sing. When you keep people at the center of what you do, it can have an enormous impact. It means an iPhonethat allows the blind person to run a marathon. It means an AppleWatch that catches a heart condition before it

becomes a heart attack. It means an iPad that helps a child with autism connect with his or her world. In short, it means technology infused with yourvalues, making progress possible for everyone.”

Tim Cook paraphrasing Steve Jobs.

“Design is a fundamental human activity, relevant and useful to everyone. Any-thing humans create—be it product, communication or system—is a result of the process of making inspira-tion real. I believe in doing what works as circumstances change: quirky or unusual solutions are often good ones. Nature bends and so should we as appropriate.

Nature is always right out-side our door as a reference and touch point. We should use it far more than we do.”

Maggie McNabb in “Design by Nature”.
