●INABA DENKI offers SLIMDUCT RD to meet the ever more sophisticated needs of comfortable environment and space.
●SLIMDUCT RD enables to fit multiple linesets into a simple container. SLIMDUCT RD is an innovative lineset ducting system for VRF installations to accommodate the diversified requirements such as the less space and construction period while enhanced the sleek appearance.
●“SLIMDUCT RD Design & Installation” manual is a guide for the proper and reasonable use. Read through the manual to make comfortable environment and space.
SLIMDUCT RD Design and Installation
●Refer to “SLIMDUCT RD Design & Installation” manual before use.●SLIMDUCT RD IS NOT WATERPROOF. To waterproof, use RDB DUCT BASEPLATE, RSP WALL PLATE or RSB WALL SLEEVE and seal all penetrations with weatherproof sealant or putty.
For all SLIMDUCT RD series
●Do not walk on SLIMDUCT RD Walkway type on a regular basis as it was designed only as a walkway to facilitate periodic maintenance of AC outdoor unit at irregular intervals.
●Always wear gloves and a helmet for your safety when walking on RDWN duct.●Attach brackets to RDWN duct only at cross strut, not at coupler. For Ells, REWN, RFWN & RTWN, attach brackets to all standard and supplementary cross struts and anchor them to roof surface. For Cross, RXWN, attach 3 brackets to bottom plate.
●Do not walk on the joint and end of ducts where anti-slip tape is not coated.●Depending on the frequency of use, the anti-slip may wear away over a period of 5 to 8 years. Always replace the RDWN duct cover whenever any of the edges become torn up or the surface shows signs of wear.
For SLIMDUCT RD - WALKWAY type
●Although ZAM, like hot dip galvanizing, is subject to white rust, this will actually form a protective coating and will not materially affect the corrosion resistance.
●Although ZAM, like hot dip galvanizing, is subject to black tarnishing, this will not materially affect the corrosion resistance.
●Black soot on the welded part of screws at duct inside is not pro-oxidant and has no problem in use.●Although the edges may show early traces of red rust as they are exposed to the elements, over a period of several months these will become coated with a zinc based film which leaches from the base layer and will change to a grayish black, providing a high level of corrosion protection for the edges.
●Always use safety protection gear (drop cloth, gloves & goggles) during installation.● Inevitable abrasion or scratching which might happen during manufacturing process will not materially affect the corrosion resistance, as base steel would never be exposed.
●When cutting duct on site, always repair cut edges with a coat of Zinc Chromate paint (ZN-AL).

■ Change in Appearance of ZA TypeThe surface of a high grade corrosion resistant hot dip galvanized steel sheet is formed of a precise coat of oxide which protects the surface of the metal coating and comprises 2 layers as follows :
1. A film of Zinc which contains Magnesium & Aluminum.2. A second film of Zinc which contains Magnesium.
The thin film makes zinc glitter by the transmitted light. Over a period and environmental influence, the coat of oxidize will thicken and not allow the light to pass through, so the surface of the metal coating will change into grayish black. The phenomenon is called black tarnishing.
■ White Rust on ZA Type DuctThe coating layer on high grade corrosion resistant hot dip galvanized steel sheet contains Zinc which offers a higher degree of ionization, preventing white rust (Zinc Hydroxide) from eroding the base steel at cut edges and at any point where the surface has been damaged by abrasion or scratching. The surface of the coating layer reacts to carbon dioxide and water in air and is formed zinc oxide (white rust) which protects the surface of the metal coating and suppresses the progress of corrosion. The zinc oxide (white rust) is formed evenly over the surface of the metal coating. In the case of accelerating to be formed by dew condensation etc. and damaging the surface protection, the zinc oxide (white rust) is formed in a limited area in a short time of two hours. It is important not to damage the surface protection coating during installation and storage in order to maintain long term corrosion resistance.
■ Caution during Handling1) Do not damage the surface of the duct or fittings.2) Do not store the duct or fittings directly on bare ground. When storing on ground, always use a spacer material other than wood to elevate the product.
3)Avoid handling piled-up product in rain.4)Cover all material before and after installation with a protective cover to prevent any damage from any alkaline liquids or metal shavings from copper pipe cutting operations nearby.
■ Caution during Storage1)Store the product in ventilated indoor.2)When storing outside, always elevate the product from well drained ground.3)If material is stored outside, protect from rain with a waterproof cover and remove this when rain stops. If material is to be shipped by ocean freight, do not permit material to become exposed to sea water during shipping, handling or storage at dockside.
4)When storing piled-up product, always use a spacer material other than wood to elevate the product and make more room between product and ground.

b. Bracket Anchorage Position
Installation Interval and Anchorage Position
The basic installation of bracket is at the interval of 1,010mm or 2,020mm. Adjust the bracket space in accordance with the piping weight.※Take 1,010mm interval for the installation of SLIMDUCT RD Walkway type. Attach brackets to RDWN duct only at cross strut, not at coupler.※For Duct, secure brackets at 2 places. Attach brackets to Coupler (RSJ-A/RFJ-A) in the bracket interval of 2,020mm.
Bracket installation position shown in this catalog is general description. The number and position of brackets is to be changed depending on shape and size of ells or installation methods. Decide the proper bracket spacing referring to the page of each fitting in this catalog.
Bracket can fix with cross strut, duct base, coupler (only with stand fixed plate), supplementary cross struts, and bottom plate. The place of bracket will change depending on duct size or application.
