Lotusland

Dark Nostalgia

ReinventionThe body, mind, and soul will find felicity through an alteration in personal livelihood. The strug-

gles from the past will influence the yearning for fresh and soothing introspection. Reinvention is

defined through finding a new state of mind and expressing one’s self in fresh ways. Fall/Winter

2014 will bring delicate change inspired by a yearning to break free from yesterday’s memories.

Soft and tranquil hues of pink and yellow mix with darkness to balance out a break of freedom

from caliginous pasts. Pops of brighter tones will mix delight with serene moods.

Brave. Peaceful. Strong

Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis is a transformation of

Mind, Soul, and Shape. Reinvention be-

gins by morphing into a new mind set. A

deeper connection between the mind and

soul will bring insight to a new shape

of life. Rich oranges, greens, and reds

will combine with darkness. a pop of

light will be found in yellow to signify

the beauty of your new form.

Metamorphosis brings back geometric

shapes and silhouettes. They will be

embellished with architectural forms.

SOlids will mingle with different layers

of pattern.

Bloom

Every Reinvetion is met with a bloom.

Bloom’s freshness will find a darker

side. This flower will be bolder and

fierce. Pale Pinks and yellows will

wrestle with blacks, deep blues, and

dark purples. The combination of inno-

cence with wildness will bring struc-

ture to organic shapes.

Color Play

Bloom is taking floral to a new level.

Darker and edgier flowers will find them-

selves on organically draped fabric. Be-

neath those organic shapes will be struc-

ture. Floral embellishments will mix with

organza and black silks.

Rebirth

Without rebirth no one can reinvent.

Rebirth will provoke a sexy and re-

vealing side.. A variety of pinks allow

blacks and grays to be reborn with

them. Comfort will be found in stripping

away the thick fabrics that surround

us in Fall/Winter, and break out lighter

sheer hues. Rebirth means not being

afraid to show yourself.

Color Play

Rebirth is lighter and more natural. Ma-

terials are tender and softer. The natu-

ral shape of the body will be revealed

and reborn. Soft cottons are the chosen

fabric. Embellishments are light and fun.

Solids will find a place among more or-

ganic prints.

Lotusland Lotusland is formed from the internal desire to discover a refined organic paradise. Palm trees and island breezes

are left behind for the idea of a perfected austere lifestyle. Natural inland landscapes will be sought out as

inspiration for a paradise that brings humanity back to its roots. The idealization of natural rural environments

creates an idyllic paradise free from technological advancements and disintegration of privacy. This rural setting

will blend with euphoric mind sets to create a quintessential mental and physical being. Lotusland combines rich

greens, oranges and yellows with soft muted hues to fructify the essence of this outer paradise fusing with an

inner paradise.

Nomad. Dreamer. Intelligent.

Trance

Trance is an organic state of mind.

There will be peace found in natural

surroundings. The colors of the trees

and grass this fall will mesmerize you

until you find peace of mind through

nature. Greens will be combined with

oranges, yellows, browns, and muted

pinks. Nature will rope you in and leave

you in a trance.

Color Play

Trance is about nature having an influence

on your mind. Tops will be more struc-

tured and bottoms will flow around you.

Metallic sheen will be sprinkled in lightly

to the rich fall colors. Fabric wi ll range

form soft silks to stiffer wools.

Dream

There would be no Locusland without

a dream. Dream combines romance and

paradise into the perfect state of mind.

Richer pinks, browns, purples, and sage

live together in this world. Pops of

yellow and dark blue go in and out of

this perfect dream.

Color Play

Dream flows with magical and roman-

tic silouettes. Silk, organza, and sequins

dazzle this magical place. Solids and

ombres will splash your enchanting mind

set with beauty and peace.

Escape

Escape is the ultimate opportunity to

find your Locusland. The beauty of the

outdoors will bring about travel and

comfort. The earth is represented with

greens, yellows, and blues in escape.

This is the time to break free from the

mental paradises and travel to your

Locusland.

Color Play

Oversized knitted sweaters give you com-

fort while travelling. Light jersey cot-

ton pants make going from place to place

easy. Jersey knits, lighter wool, and denim

embellishment will keep you warm and

happy during your travels. Panelled leg-

gings remake an appearance as well.

Dark NostalgiaBeauty will be found in much more than aesthetically pleasing images and alluring colors. A deeper look at the aban-

doned and forgotten parts of life will bring discovery of exquisiteness in the most unexpected of places. Fall/Winter

2014 will bring change in the way we view beauty. A change in how we perceive beauty will lead to a cultural shift

toward finding allure to all the things the world is made of. Abondonment, corrosion, and decay will provide the per-

fect hues and tones of vibrant colors. Deep blues, oranges and red will mix with dark browns to create a rustic mood.

Pops of teal will bring the richer colors to life.

Rustic. Playful. Independent.

Abandoned

Dark Nostalgia will open people’s eyes

to abandonment. It will be the aban-

donment of who you were in your past

and the beauty you find in all your

past mistakes. Reds, oranges, tans, and

browns encompass the sadness and

happiness you will find through aban-

donment.

Color Play

Abandoned is about wrapping up inside

your mind and body to be alone with your

thoughts of past memories. Layers of

soft and warm cloths will drape around

you for comfort. Rough textures will be

from wools and prints.

Corrosion

Corrosion is the beauty behind deterio-

ration. There will beauty in old build-

ings and objects that at one time were

a part of our society. We will see

the beauty in the memories that have

slowly rusted and corroded out of

them over time. Those colors influence

out pallet in Corrosion. Rustic reds and

oranges bleed into blacks and tans. All

the while a little brightness from the

origins shines through.

Color Play

Corrosion will be full of embllishments.

Pieces of fabric will hang and cut outs

will drape around you. Thick cottons,

wool and leather will be the fabrics of

choice. Any embellishment will be openly

accepted.

Decay

Decay is the final piece of Dark Nostal-

gia. Here, we let our memories of the

past be at peace and decay away. Ap-

precation for the beauty in decay will

be found. A brighter blue, red, and green

is the mark of moving on from the past

but not forgetting its beauty.

Color Play

Decay will bring together thin fabrics and

thick furs. Just like the walls of decay-

ing buildings, the fabrics will be worn and

torn. But the foundation will still be

there, which will be thick knits and warm

furs. Prints will depict the beauty of

natural destruction.
