The wait is over. Glittering gongs have been pinned on the pastyear’s world-rockingest people, places and very particular things,as we make our cut of the best in class for the Wallpaper* DesignAwards 2018. Officine PaneraiNext GenerationDesigner of theYear

Born in Milan, Guglielmo Poletti studiedcontextual design at Design Academy Eindhoven,The Netherlands. His work pursues the definitionof a personal language, an artistic identity whichaims to tri#er reflections on the meaning of formin relation to functionality or context. This searchfor the essence of things is evident in Equilibrium,his graduation project, which explores materials byintroducing twists, suspension and tension to createa series of beautifully made sculptures. Intuitionand a hands-on approach, combined with freeexperimentation, are essential starting points forthe personal vocabulary of Poletti’s work.
