3M Science & Technology Graduate Fellowship sponsors one graduate student in the chemistry and materials science departments. AAAS Mass Media Science & Engineering Fellowship places science, engineering, and mathematics students at media organizations nationwide. AAAS Science and Technology Policy Executive Branch Fellowship provides opportunities for outstanding scientists and engineers to learn firsthand about federal policymaking while using their knowledge and skills to address today’s most pressing societal challenges. AAS China and Inner Asia Council Grant supports dissertators with special interests in China, Taiwan, or Inner Asia. AAUW Career Development Grant provides funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or reenter the workforce. AAUW International Fellowship are awarded for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not US citizens or permanent residents. ABF/Northwestern University Doctoral Fellowship encourages original and significant research on law, the legal profession, and legal institutions. ACLA Presidential Undergraduate Prize supports scholars whose work involves several literatures and cultures as well as the premises of cross-cultural literary study itself. ACOR-CAORC Predoctoral Fellowship supports research in Near Eastern studies by US citizens at the American Center of Oriental Research in Amman, Jordan. AJS Dissertation Completion Fellowship encourages the timely completion of doctorates by the most promising graduate students in the field; creates a cohort of fellows who will lead the field of Jewish studies for decades to come; exposes new audiences to Jewish studies scholarship through fellows’ public lectures; and promotes continued growth of academic Jewish studies. American Heart Association Predoctoral Fellowship helps students initiate careers in cardiovascular and stroke research with research assistance and training.



American Society of Plant Taxonomists Graduate Student Research Award supports master’s and doctoral students to conduct fieldwork, herbarium studies, and/or laboratory research in any area of plant systematics. Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship for Art Historical Research enables highly talented candidates to base part of their research at the Rijksmuseum and offers access to the museum’s expertise, collections, library and laboratories. APSA Minority Fellowship increases the number of minority scholars in the discipline of political science. APSA Prestage-Fenno Fund furthers the professional advancement of students from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds conducting undergraduate research at the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute. ARCS Scholars are selected annually by qualifying departments of science, engineering, and medical research within ARCS Foundation’s fifty-one academic partner universities and colleges. ARIT Summer Fellowship for Advanced Turkish Language Study provides the equivalent of one full academic year of study in Turkish at the college level at Boğaziçi University, Istanbul. Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library Visiting Graduate Student Fellowship supports graduate students who wish to use Beinecke collections as a primary resource for their dissertation research. Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship funds US undergraduates for study abroad. BIEA Thematic Research Grant seeks to nurture early career researchers and scholars in eastern Africa and is keen to fund small projects that lay the ground for larger projects. Bloomberg-UNC-Berkeley Business Journalism Diversity Program shows how business journalists report on what is most at stake in the economy, global stock and bond markets, government regulations, and the job market. BMRC Summer Short-Term Fellowship engages scholars, independent researchers, artists, and public historians from the United States, Canada, and Europe to better formulate new historical narratives of Chicago’s past through use of the Black Metropolis Research Consortium member archives. Boren Fellowship funds US graduate students to study less commonly taught languages in regions critical to US interests and underrepresented in study abroad. British Marshall Scholarship supports future leaders to pursue graduate study at UK institutions and strengthen the enduring relationship between the British and American peoples. CAITY Travel Award is open to contingent faculty, adjunct instructors, independent scholars, and two-year college faculty who have been accepted to present a paper at NeMLA’s annual conference. CASA Fellowship provides intensive language and culture training in Colloquial and Modern Standard Arabic. CDC Public Health Associate Program assigns participants to public health agencies and nongovernmental organizations in the United States and US territories to work alongside other professionals across a variety of public health settings. Center for the Art and Architectural History of Port Cities Research Residency brings together advanced graduate students from institutions throughout Europe and the United States to pursue research in residence at the Capodimonte on projects related to Naples and the cultural histories of port cities. Chancellor’s Doctoral Incentive Program increases the number of faculty with the qualifications, motivation, and skills needed to teach the diverse students of the California State University. DAAD Summer Language Grant funds graduate students at American universities to attend eight-week intensive language courses at leading institutes in Germany. DAAD Undergraduate Scholarship supports undergraduates to study and research in Germany. David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellowship seeks to develop future world leaders and entrepreneurs who are successful at linking conservation science and application. Deborah Orin Scholarship honors the late White House correspondent and Washington bureau chief for the New York Post. Dianne M. Pinderhughes Mentorship Award funds undergraduate students to attend the National Conference of Black Political Scientists. Dirksen Congressional Center Congressional Research Grant funds research on congressional leadership and the US Congress. Diverse Voices in Docs is a nine-month professional mentorship and development program for documentary filmmakers of color, organized by Kartemquin Films and the Community Film Workshop of Chicago. DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship provides outstanding benefits and opportunities to students pursuing doctoral degrees in fields that use high-performance computing to solve complex science and engineering problems.



DOE NNSA Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship provides excellent financial benefits and professional development opportunities to students pursuing a PhD in fields of study that solve complex science and engineering problems critical to stewardship science. DOE Office of Science Graduate Student Research Program provides supplemental funding to outstanding US graduate students to pursue part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE laboratory. Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fund Fellowship covers the cost of tuition and provides an annual $18,000 stipend for living expenses to graduate students in any discipline who are US citizens. Echoing Green spots emerging leaders and invests deeply in their success to accelerate their impact. Emma Bowen Foundation Fellowship builds a more diverse media and tech industry by recruiting promising students of color and placing them in multi-year paid internships at some of the nation’s leading media companies. Erasmus Mundus Scholarship offers full funding for graduate study at a consortia of two or more universities in the European Union. Ertegun Scholarship encourages graduate study in the humanities at the University of Oxford. EWRI Scholarship awards $1000 to students pursuing a course of undergraduate or graduate study in the various fields within civil engineering. FFIT Overseas Scholarship supports tuition and living expenses of students while they pursue PhDs at overseas universities. Field Foundation of Illinois Fellowship places recipients in supervised field placements at the foundation, offering them field work and philanthropic experience. Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation for the Advancement of Women in Sports and Entertainment Scholarship aids women in furthering their education, encourages their valued participation in the profession, and benefits the profession as a whole.



Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship provides three years of support for individuals engaged in graduate study leading to a PhD or ScD. Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship assists exceptional undergraduate and graduate students undergoing training in a foreign language or area studies. Frances Degen Horowitz Millennium Scholars Program encourages and supports scholars from underrepresented ethnic/racial groups from North America in pursuing graduate work in developmental science. FRQSC Master’s Research Scholarship supports research excellence by providing the best applicants with financial assistance to undertake or pursue a master’s or doctoral research program in social sciences, humanities, or arts and literature. Fulbright UK Summer Institute offers US undergraduates students the chance to explore the culture, heritage, and history of the United Kingdom at a UK university. Fulbright US Student Program supports a year of study or research, projects in the creative or performing arts, or teaching in more than 155 countries worldwide. Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Program provides grants to colleges and universities to fund individual doctoral students who conduct research in other countries, in modern foreign languages, and area studies for periods of six to twelve months. GEM Full Fellow supports underrepresented minority students pursuing a master’s or doctorate in engineering. George and Ann Richards Civil War Era Center Postdoctoral Fellowship rewards recently graduated PhDs studying aspects of the African-American experience, from slavery to Civil Rights. German Chancellor Fellowship is targeted at university graduates from the United States, the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Brazil, and India who have an international outlook and initial leadership experience. Getty Library Research Grant provides partial, short-term support for researchers requiring the use of specific collections housed in the Getty Research Institute. Gilder Lehrman Institute Scholarly Fellowship supports research at archives in New York City.



Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation Grant funds research excellence at the intersection of humanistic inquiry and artistic creativity in the performing arts. Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation Venetian Research Program Grant supports historical research on Venice, the former Venetian empire, and contemporary Venetian society and culture. Global Religion Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship promotes the social scientific study of contemporary religions around the globe, especially religions in the “global south,” beyond the North Atlantic world. Goldie Scholars redefines the commercial real estate industry by elevating and advancing the careers of women with high potential. Goldwater Scholarship awards up to $7,500 to sophomore and junior researchers in mathematics, natural sciences, or engineering. Hargrett Library Signature Research Stipend supports projects that present creative approaches, including historical research and documentation projects resulting in dissertations, publications, exhibitions, educational initiatives, documentary films, or other multimedia products and artistic works. Harvard-Newcomen Postdoctoral Fellowship in Business History recipients spend a year in residence working on their research project and participating in the school’s various activities in business history. Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship is based on the applicant’s specific transportation goals, academic record, and transportation-related activities or job skills. Hellenic Bar Association Foundation Scholarship is awarded annually to Hellenic law students. Hemsley Internship Program provides the opportunity to work in a professional repertory situation with resident and guest designers. Henry Luce Foundation/ACLS Program in China Studies Predissertation–Summer Travel Grant provides funding for graduate students to conduct preliminary research in Chinese archives and field sites, to establish contact with Chinese scholars, and to secure necessary permissions for their own fieldwork or archival research.



HHMI Gilliam Fellowships for Advanced Study aims to ensure that a diverse and highly trained workforce is prepared to assume leadership roles in science. HHMI Medical Research Fellowship supports medical, veterinary, and dental students in research experiences. HistoryMakers Digital Humanities Fellowship is awarded to digital humanities scholars pursuing interpretive research projects that require digital expression, analysis, and/or digital publication. Humane Studies Fellowship is a nonresidency renewable award of up to $15,000 per year to assist students enrolled or planning to enroll in full-time PhD programs. Humanities Without Walls Predoctoral Career Diversity Summer Workshop aims to prepare doctoral students for careers both within and outside the academy. Huntington Residential Institute in the History of Science, Technology, and Medicine introduced early career scholars to the Huntington’s exceptionally rich collections in this area through a program of taught seminars, library visits, and guided practical sessions that will explore different genres of source material. IAP Grant assists Chicago’s professional artists in creating work that elevates their careers and brings value to the city. IEEE CSC Graduate Study Fellowship is awarded annually to a full-time graduate student pursuing a PhD (or equivalent) degree in the area of applied superconductivity at an accredited college or university of recognized standing worldwide. ILJU Academy and Culture Foundation Scholarship supports doctoral students pursuing degrees in Korea. Illinois Native Plant Society Research Grant awards up to $1,500 toward projects that further the mission and goals of the society. Illinois State Academy of Science Student Research Grant is awarded annually to Illinois high school, undergraduate, and graduate students who are members of the academy.



INFORMS Undergraduate Student Scholarship aims to foster the professional pipeline of operations research, management science, and analytics researchers by providing undergraduate students an opportunity to experience the academic profession and professional development by attending the INFORMS annual meeting. International Association of Plant Taxonomists Graduate Student Research Grant supports master’s and doctoral students to conduct fieldwork, herbarium studies, and/or laboratory research in any area of plant systematics. ISPNE Travel Award is given to the highest rated abstracts submitted by student members of the ISPNE or by postdoc members in their first year after completing their doctoral degree. IWEA Clean Water Scholarship aids students preparing for careers working with the water environment. J. Richard Hackman Dissertation Award goes to a new PhD whose doctoral dissertation shows the greatest potential to advance the understanding of groups beyond one discipline. Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies Visiting Fellowship provides for continued growth and vitality in the field of Holocaust studies, promotes networking and cooperative projects among Holocaust scholars around the world, and ensures future generations of Holocaust scholars in the United States and abroad. James H. Dunn, Jr. Memorial Fellowship affords recent college graduates from every state the opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of Illinois state government and general governmental structure at the executive level. Japan-IMF Scholarship Program for Advanced Studies is a two-year program intended to help Japanese nationals obtaining PhD degrees in macroeconomics and prepare them to work as economists at the International Monetary Fund. Jefferson Scholars Foundation National Fellowship supports outstanding scholars at top institutions across the country who are completing dissertations in American history, politics, public policy and foreign relations. Jerome Fellowship supports early-career playwrights who demonstrate extraordinary potential, artistic vision, and a commitment to spending a year in residency in Minnesota developing their work.



Jim McKay Graduate Scholarship awards one male and one female student-athlete $10,000 in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and their potential to make a major contribution to the sports communication industry or public relations. JPC Reporting Fellowship provides work experience with leading media outlets in Israel. Knowles Teaching Fellows Program supports a national network of mathematics and science teachers who are collaborative, innovative leaders improving education for all students in the United States. KODAK Student Scholarship Awards–Bronze Award encourage and foster the next generation of filmmakers and honors students who demonstrate exemplary skills and creativity in the art of motion pictures. Korean Ancestry Grant awards up to $10,000 to students with at least one Asian grandparent. Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research encourages exploratory field studies for the collection of specimens and data and to provide the imaginative stimulus that accompanies direct observation. Linus Pauling Distinguished Postdoctoral Fellowship encourages recipients through active mentoring by internationally recognized scientists and equips them with the resources to carry out a research program of their own design. Louisville Institute Dissertation Fellowship supports the final year of PhD or ThD dissertation writing for students engaged in research pertaining to North American Christianity, especially projects with the potential to strengthen the religious life of North American Christians and their institutions, including seminaries, while simultaneously advancing American religious and theological scholarship. Luce/ACLS Dissertation Fellowships in American Art are designated for graduate students at any stage of PhD dissertation research or writing and may be used in residence at the fellow’s home institution, abroad, or at another appropriate site for the research. Mark and Ruth Luckens International Prize in Jewish Thought and Culture is awarded to the best unpublished original essay that is also suitable for oral presentation to a general audience and is written by a graduate student or recent PhD who does not already have a tenure-track academic position.



Max Planck Institute Summer Academy for Legal History Scholarship develops the ability of its participants to transfer legal terminologies and theories across linguistic and cultural contexts, thus providing a basis to build and consolidate international research networks. Medieval Slavic Summer Institute is a four-week intensive course for qualified graduate students, held in Columbus, Ohio, every other year. Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows places recent PhDs from the humanities and humanistic social sciences in two-year staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector. Mershon Center Postdoctoral Fellowship is based at Ohio State University and supports research on national security in a global context. MFJC Doctoral Scholarship trains qualified individuals for careers in Jewish scholarship and research. Michigan Society of Fellows Postdoctoral Fellowship selects outstanding applicants for appointment to three-year fellowships in the social, physical, and life sciences, and in the professional schools. MIT Diversity Predoctoral Fellowship enhances diversity in the school and provides the fellows with additional professional support and mentoring as they enter their fields. Mitchell Scholarship introduces and connects generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to community and public service. MLB Diversity Fellowship places candidates in entry-level roles within one of the MLB clubs and MLB’s central office. National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship is awarded to applicants who will pursue a doctoral degree in, or closely related to, an area of Department of Defense interest. NIH Clinical Center Medical Research Scholars Program endeavors to be the premier training program for future clinician-scientists that advances health by inspiring careers in biomedical research.



NIH Fogarty International Center Global Health Fellowship supports US university consortia to provide collaborative, mentored global health research training opportunities in low- and middle-income countries. NIH Postbaccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award provides recent college graduates who are planning to apply to graduate or professional school an opportunity to spend up to two years performing full-time research at the NIH. NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Individual Predoctoral NRSA for MD/PhD (F30) recognizes underrepresented individuals in the scientific workforce for their outstanding research in health-related fields. NIH Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Individual NRSA (F31) recognizes underrepresented individuals in the scientific workforce for their outstanding research in health-related fields. NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships–Doctoral Program provides financial support to high-caliber students who are engaged in doctoral programs in the natural sciences or engineering. NSF Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant allows doctoral students to improve their dissertation research, undertake significant data-gathering projects, and conduct field research away from their campus. NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program funds three years of graduate study in STEM fields at any US university. NSF Interdisciplinary Research in Korea on Applied Smart Systems for Undergraduate Students provides a cohort of five US undergraduate students per year with the opportunity to conduct research for eight weeks at Korea’s top-ranked universities with state-of-the-art research facilities. Penn Predoctoral Fellowship for Excellence through Diversity provides mentorship and access to Penn’s resources for doctoral students in the humanities or social sciences, enrolled in graduate or professional programs at universities other than Penn, as they complete their dissertations. Penn Program on Race, Science, and Society Predoctoral Fellowship is devoted to transformative and interdisciplinary approaches to the role of race in scientific research and biotechnological innovations, aiming both to promote social justice and to dispel the myth that race is a natural division of human beings. POLITICO Journalism Institute is an educational initiative focused on supporting diversity in Washington newsrooms. Postdoctoral Fellowship in Immigration, Cultures, and Law fosters cross-disciplinary intellectual exchange and transformative scholarship at the intersections of the humanities and social sciences. PPG Foundation Fellowship raises awareness of PPG Industries as a place of choice for students interested in industrial careers. PPIA Junior Summer Institute trains a broad range of individuals who will bring diverse perspectives to policy work. Princeton in Africa Fellowship develops young leaders committed to Africa’s advancement by offering yearlong fellowship opportunities with a variety of organizations. Princeton in Asia Fellowship offers service-oriented fellowships in the fields of education, media/journalism, international development, and business, with a majority of fellows working as English teachers at high schools and universities. Princeton in Latin America Fellowship partners with NGOs and multilateral organizations to place highly qualified recent college graduates in yearlong service fellowships with nonprofit, public service, humanitarian, and government organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean. Project Global Officer Scholarship promotes critical language education, study abroad, and intercultural dialogue opportunities for ROTC students. Projects for Peace supports undergraduates to design and implement their own summer development projects that promote peace.



Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting Grant supports in-depth, high-impact reporting on topics of global importance, including investigations of systemic problems that are often overlooked by mainstream US media. Pulliam Journalism Fellowship seeks college students and new graduates with a talent for reporting, news design and graphics, or photojournalism for an exciting and demanding journalism fellowship program. Quantum Computing Graduate Research Fellowship aims to stimulate US graduate student participation in research related to quantum computing and to assist in the training of graduate students to prepare them for careers in quantum information science. RAC Research Stipend provides awards of up to $5000 for reimbursement of receipted expenses for travel and accommodation in conjunction with research conducted at the Rockefeller Archive Center. Robertson Foundation for Government Fellowship supports outstanding graduate students who represent diverse backgrounds and perspectives, with a common embrace of government service as a future calling. Rubenianum Fellowship supports young American researchers who are affiliated with an American university and who are working on the Flemish art of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. RWJF Health Policy Research Scholar awards second-year doctoral students in any academic discipline who want to apply their research to help build healthier and more equitable communities. Samuel H. Kress Foundation Fellowship supports fifteen months of full-time document assessment and description for the Documentary Sources database onsite at the Archivio di Stato in Florence and five months of independent research on a topic related to art history and/or history of architecture and the Mediceo del Principato archival corpus. Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation Fellowship offers medical students enrolled in accredited US medical schools the opportunity to spend a year conducting intensive work in a biomedical research facility in the United States, other than the medical school in which they are enrolled. Simon Fraser University Postdoctoral Fellowship furthers intellectual development and career opportunities at a university that has a strong academic and community history and is internationally recognized and ranked as one of the top institutions in the world. Soon Young Kim Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to scholars from all fields of study in Korean studies. SSRC Dissertation Proposal Development Program supports an interdisciplinary training program that helps early-stage doctoral students in the humanities and social sciences with exposure to the theories, literatures, methods, and intellectual traditions of disciplines outside their own. SSRC International Dissertation Research Fellowship offers nine to twelve months of support to graduate students in the humanities and humanistic social sciences who are enrolled in PhD programs in the United States and conducting dissertation research on non-US topics. SSRC Mellon Mays Predoctoral Research Grant are open to PhD students who were selected as Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellows. Stanford East Asia Library Travel Grant assists scholars from outside the greater San Francisco Bay Area in accessing the Stanford East Asia Library collections for research. STLE Chicago Section Scholarship supports students engaged in all areas of tribology research. STRI Internship provides the opportunity to meet and work with scientists from around the world, gain hands-on experience in academia and research, and delve into Panama’s rich ecosystems and culture. Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Short-Term Fellowship supports scholarly use of the library’s research collections. Summer Institute for Technical Studies in Art is an intensive two-week workshop for PhD candidates in art history who feel their thinking will benefit from more experience with object-based and art-technical investigations.



Summer Institute in Computational Social Science brings together graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and beginning faculty interested in computational social science. Tau Beta Pi Scholarship has been given to thousands of students for their senior year of engineering study. ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship encourages collaboration between Swiss and US students and academics in a variety of fields.
