Standard Audience
Brief Overview
1) Publishers can log into DPS Portal and click Analytics on the left navigation to access
the Standard Audience metrics. In order to view any of the Standard Audience
Metrics for any Issue, Accumulation Settings must be completed for those Issues.
2) It’s extremely important for the publishers to set correct settings. Once these
settings are saved and report is generation is complete, then the publisher cannot
update the settings. Here are the required Accumulation Settings for an Issue:
a. Audience Accumulation Start Date
b. Publish Frequency
3) Here is some additional information on Accumulation settings:
a. Once the Accumulation Settings are saved for an Issue, if the Issue’s
Accumulation period is in the past and the report status is “Completed”, then
the Accumulation Settings cannot be updated.
b. If the Issue is currently in the Accumulation Period, then Accumulation
Settings can be updated.
c. If the Accumulation period is ending before the folio is published, then an
error will be displayed.
4) Once the Accumulation settings are set, publishers can then view any of the four
Standard Audience reports. The start date and end date for the metrics data will be

derived from the Issue Accumulation Settings. Each of the Standard Audience
Report:
a. Allows a publisher to select the Issue.
b. Shows a chart along with a table with data per day.
c. Shows the Publish Frequency.
d. Shows the status of the report. Here are the two possible status of the report:
i. Completed: A report status is “Completed” when all the data for the
metric is collected and the accumulation period has ended. Here is a
view of an Accumulated Readers report that shows a completed status.
For a report that is in “Completed” status, the Accumulation Settings
cannot be edited.
ii. Pending: A report is “Pending” when the Issue is still in the
Accumulation Period and the data is being collected every day. Here is

a view of an Accumulated Readers report that shows a Pending status.

FAQ
1. Why does the sum of Download Completed, Download Errors and Download
cancelled is different from Download Started?
There could be 3 causes for this:
• User starts to download folio A ('Download Started' event is sent for folio A). Before the current download ends, user starts to download folio B. In this case, another 'Download Started' event is sent for folio B, but folio A will remain in 'Download Paused' state without reaching a final Download state (Completed/Errors/Cancelled). Only if the user will tap again on the folio A, the download will be resumed (following this scenario, user can start simultaneously several download, only the last download will reach a final download state).
• User will start the download in the current day, but the final download state will be send in the next day. In this case, if the selected interval ends today, then the report will not contain the final Download state.
• If the user has opt-in dialog enabled, it can select 'Don't Allow' tracking after the download starts and before the download will reach a final state. In this case, the events will not be sent.
