HP-HEMI™ Hydraulic Pressure Booster Motor Assisted Turbocharger Energy Recovery Device Series

The FEDCO HP-HEMI motor assisted turbocharger was designed for large capacity seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) as a feed booster and an interstage pressure booster. Large SWRO system design require variable membrane feed pressures due to seasonal temperature changes, variable feed salinity, or membrane fouling. FEDCO created the HEMI or hydraulic energy management integration solution by coupling a motor to large model size HPB™ turbochargers. The HP-HEMI rotor is attached to the motor to help adjust the shaft speed to provide the feed pressure required for a large capacity RO system. Based on the success of our HPB™ turbochargers, the HP-HEMI™ will provide years of reliable, corrosion resistant, trouble-free operation to increase the service of your capital equipment and provide low life cycle costs for your SWRO system.

Reliable, Simple HPB Technology assisted by a motor

Large SWRO system design require variable membrane feed pressures due to seasonal temperature changes, variable feed salinity, or membrane fouling. FEDCO created the HEMI or hydraulic energy management integration solution by coupling a motor to large model size HPB™ turbochargers. The HP-HEMI rotor is attached to the motor to help adjust the shaft speed to provide the feed pressure required for a large capacity RO system.

Turbine and Pump impeller vanes are customer machined on a common shaft or rotor with the RotorFlo™, patented product lubrication only available in FEDCO turbochargers. The hydraulic design controls by a VFD regulates the pressure and flow while recovering the brine energy from the membranes. This provides a large safety factor to handle the

unexpected membrane or feed conditions. No need for pump impeller trimming and your feed pump motor hp is reduces.
