Apologies for the tardiness of this issue folks. I finally have some "real" work for a change and don'thave the time to sit around anymore making nice little Redwood calendars with fancy pictures anymore.Plus, this Presidency stuff really keeps you busy. No wonder all past presidents have that knowing smilewhen they pass. Don't get me wrong, I am loving the new position; it's kind of like the first time you hitthe curb on your new bike. You come home with a bruise but somehow it still feels good. Most importantly we want to support Kurt and the upcoming Marin Sonoma Concours d' Elegance. Thisevent is very important for our Club and it will bring a lot of attention from media all around the area.Check out Kurt's Korner for all the details and see how you can help out.

Secondly, Jerry Gladstone is finalizing revisions to our Bylaws and we will be seeking your input in thenear future. The Bylaws are unique to our Region and your thoughts will be welcome for how weconduct our operations now and in the future. Please stay tuned for upcoming reports from Jerry We also may be re-paving/patching out beloved autocross track in a week and this will greatly enhanceour road-going experience. With the help of Kurt, David Bunch and Jim Winston, we have finally reeledthis in and I am hoping by next issue we will have a much improved course. Stay tuned for drivers'observations! What else. The Hoppy Beer Tour is coming up FAST. Hop on board fast for a very entertaining newvenue brought to you by Rob and Mary Neidel. ALSO, our very favorite breakfast run to Rancho Nicasiowill be coming up fast on April 3rd. Check out the website for details on these events!

And one more thing...check out your March Panorama, page 85.

I am only fixated on one thing now until after May 16, 2010 and that is the Marin-SonomaConcours d' Elegance and the Redwood Region's participation in the biggest Porsche event in allof Zone 7 for 2010. We have three categories of events that you can partake in...

1. We are still looking for the best of the best in Porsches for the Concours itself. We will beusing the PCA Zone 7 Concours rules for "street" class, which covers everything except thechassis and underpinnings in these classes; 356, 911's to 1973 and newly added 912's and914's to 1976 along with Porsche race cars of any year! If you have that fine car or know of

someone who has one...please go to this link! http://www.marinsonomaconcours.org/documents/VEHICLEENTRYAPPLICATION 001.pdf

2. On Saturday, May 15, 2010, we have "The Drive" which starts in Mill Valley with acontinental breakfast and after a 2 + hour spirited drive on the back roads of Marin andSonoma Counties ends up with a gourmet lunch at the Rockin H Ranch situated on thePetaluma River. The cost for this event is $40.00 per person. We are allotted 75 cars or150 people on the first come basis! We already have over 60 people on this tour, so do notget left behind. Get your application in ASAP. This is for any Porsche, regardless of year! Here is the link for "The Drive".

http://www.marinsonomaconcours.org/documents/DriveVehicleEntryApplication 002.pdf

3. On Sunday, May 16, 2010 for the Concours, we have about 108 spaces in a special Car Corral Area adjacent to the Concours field and not stuck out withthe rest of the "other" cars! Corrals are great places for socializing and general tire kicking ofour favorite marque. The cost for the corral is $40.00 per car and that includes 2admissions to the Concours! Here is the link.

http://www.marinsonomaconcours.org/documents/CARCLUBENTRYAPPLICATION 000.pdf

Last year, the Marin-Sonoma Concours d' Elegance had 180 cars on the field and thousands ofvisitors for its first year and this year, the field has been expanded to 200 cars. You will not finda better Concours on this side of the Golden Gate Bridge; you name the car and it will be there! Remember PORSCHE is the featured marque and we will have the iconic Janis Joplin wildlypainted 356 there on display along with many other surprises! This Concours is in our ownbackyard...the Redwood Region and benefits Hospice By the Bay. All events are tax deductible! Please reserve your space now, as these events will fill up fast! What do 75 drivers do on a Saturday in March with questionable weather? Why wewere all at the first Redwood Region Autocross of 2010! With the weather changing on almost a hourly basis, our esteemed Autocross Director,David Bunch made the call and sent out emails to all the racers saying "We have theweather...we have the venue...let's do it."

As I arrived at the Santa Rosa Airport at 7:30AM...I was prepared; rain gear, coldweather gear with gloves and dressed in layers! Slowly the cars and drivers trickled inand then groups of 4-5 cars making for a full field for the need for speed after a very longwinter here in Northern California. Luckily, our intrepid photographer, John Jackson wasshooting candid shots at the gate and was quickly enlisted in helping with all the signupsas the sun was peeking through the clouds! By 9:00AM, I could tell...this was a real full house driver wise and warmth wise as I peeledoff my first layer! Lots of old faces were there and with our new rules with only Porscheowners and ESCA members all sporting their new identity cards a number of new faces! David had the drivers' meeting and the cars in the first run group lined up for our10:00AM start. The season is here, you could tell with all the tweaks, and fiddles with tirepressures...this group was ready!

Neil Librock from GGR instructing. John Jackson pic.

By our lunchtime break, the track and the drivers had heated up substantially as thetimes and clothing were dropping on the fast course that David set up. It is always fun towatch the drivers come in from their runs with huge grins and pumping of fists andthumbs up getting their timing slips!

What a great day... the weather cooperated in spades ...the participants all left with biggrins. Thanks to David for his direction and course design, Mac Cranford for registration,Tom Strobel, Vern Rogers, Sharon Neidel and Bill Newton for assisting wherever possibleand to all of our instructors for another great Redwood Region Autocross. Our next event is our Zone 7 two day Autocross on April 17-18, 2010. Be there... Aloha!
