University LevelUniversity Level activities take up nearly a third of my time but are essential to achieve One University Business and Management Program Committee Graduate Council Co-Chair Assessment Workshops Programmatic Accreditation Support (PMI, ACBSP) Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper - Robert Frost 5. Campus Level The opportunities for work are infinite! Did I forget to mention other duties as assigned? Faculty Management (4 Full-time and 45 Adjunct) Faculty Assessment (FSS, Course Obs, Course Shells, Success Factors) Quarterly Faculty and Course Scheduling LDA Analysis Retention Committee Course Shell Reviews (150+ every other week) Student Mentoring and Problem Resolution (not ongoing, never-ending!) Teaching (1-2 Masters courses and Undergrad Capstones) Weekly Academic Leadership Meetings Weekly IE Meetings Weekly Academic Ops Meetings Quarterly Faculty In-Service Meetings Graduation College professorsomeone who talks in other Undergraduate Orientation peoples sleep Graduate Orientation 6. Local Level Being visible in the local community greatly contributes to thesuccess of the campus and the university Key Note and Guest Speaker at Professional Organizationevents (PMI, SHRM, ASTD) and other universities Avera Medical Business Ethics Community Event Support Board of Directors (Sioux Empire PMI Chapter) Lunch and Learns at local companies 7. Professional DevelopmentIt is critical for the Department Chair to have an up-to-dateprofessional development portfolio Journal Article Publication (1 complete for this year and 3 morein the works) Certified Manager (CM) Professional Certification yearly developmentrequirements Doctoral Dissertation Committee Member Performance Coaching Certification (PCC)The Gate of Change is Locked on the INSIDE -Margaret Ferguson 8.
