Hear what Aaron Wodhams our History Blogger has to sayabout his Chichester Experience

“Module selection, I believe one of the most important aspects to be considered is the modeof assessment. Generally speaking, History modules now consist of a single summativeassignment, which tends to be either an examination or a piece of coursework. The formercould be a 3-hour examination, while the latter a 3,500-word essay. Arguably, your choice ofmodule should reflect your strengths in academia, i.e. if you are more comfortable completingan assignment outside of timed conditions, then it would be advisable to choose a modulewhich involves an essay assessment. Although, while I believe this is important and should betaken into consideration, those who strongly wish to partake in a module which they have aparticular interest in, e.g. Medieval History, should not be deterred from doing so if the modeof assessment is different to what they are accustomed to, as we as students are permitted toexplore our interests.”
