ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2017-18

HYDROLOGY SOUTH ZONE JEYPORE AT: KORAPUT.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

Hydrology South Zone, Jeypur at Koraput has been created during the year 1998 and

functioning at Upper Kolab Irrigation Colony at Gandhinagar, Koraput. The Division

comprises of four Sub - Divisions as follows.

1. Hydrometry Sub - Division, Jeypore, At. Koraput.

2. Hydrometry Sub - Division Rayagada, At . Rayagada.

3. Hydrometry Sub-Division, Berhampur, At. Berhampur.

4. Hydrometry Sub-Division, Phulbani, At. Phulbani.

TARGETS: This Division is looking after the operation, maintenance and data collection of 29 nos

of stations under HP-I and 35 Nos of stations under HP-II. The type of stations are as

follows:

In HP-I : 1. G D 10 Nos 2. G (DWLR) 7 Nos

3. G.D.S 3 Nos 4. GDSW 5 Nos 5. F.C.S 4 Nos 29Nos In HP-II : 1. ARS, 21 Nos

2. AWS 7 Nos 3. AWL 7 Nos 35 Nos

The details and Status of above stations are attached separately in this booklet

ACHIEVEMENTS:

Collection, Transmission of Data from field stations have been done by the existing

Regular wages, work charged and NMR employees (The details of Staff position of Wages

Regular, work charged and NMR are enclosed separately) and Data processing has been

done by the field Engineers in the Divisional Data Processing Centre, during the year 2017-

2018. Thereafter all the Data are transmitted to the State Data processing Centre through

Soft copy. Besides the above, the preparatory work for fixation of 36 Nos of ARS,AWL,

AWS stations under National Hydrology Project has been carried out and will be installed

consequent upon procurement of materials for instruments. Improvement of Data centre

and procurement of T& P and survey materials are in process under National Hydrological

Project during the year 2017-18.

HYDROLOGY SOUTH ZONE, JEYPORE AT KORAPUT STAFF POSITION:

DIVISIONAL DATA PROCESSING CENTER (DDPC):

One Data processing Center is working at Division office. After receiving the

data from subdivision levels the same are being entered in computer. There after all the

data are transmitted to the State Data Processing Center through soft copy.

COLLECTION OF DATA:

Wages Regular, Work Charged and NMR Employees are engaged for collection &

transmission of data from field stations.

INSPECTION VEHILE:

One diesel jeep bearing Regn.No. OR 12 -1917 is available in Hydrometry Sub-

Division, Koraput for inspection of Gauge & Discharge sites.

One inspection vehicle has been provided to this sub-division for inspection

of sites. The sub divisional officer shares the jeep for the inspection of sites along Deputy

Director. One sub divisional Data Processing center is functioning in the subdivision office.

The subdivision is also entrusted with the maintenance work of residential and non

residential buildings located at Upper Kolab Irrigation Colony, Gandhinagar, Koraput.

The Sub- Division is functioning in a departmental Building acquired from

U.K.Project in the Block colony at Rayagada.

Consequent upon restructuring, two nos. of sub-divisions have been created namely

Phulbani Hydrometry Sub-Division & Nayagarh Hydrometry Sub-Division with head

Quarters at Phulbani & Nayagarh respectively. The sanctioned strength of these Sub-

Divisions are as appended below.
