1. Introduction
Department of Information and Communication Engineering is recognized as a leading
institution in both innovative research and graduate education in Korea. Goal of the
department is to train the most motivated students to become global leaders in
academia, industry, and national labs. The department offers Master of Science (MS)
and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs.
The department has research centers funded by government agencies and private
industries: Super Intelligence Technology Center, UWB Wireless Communications
Research Center, OPERA (Optics and Photonics Elite Research Academy), and Precision
Inspection & Measurement Center. Major research areas include Next-generation wired
and wireless communications, multimedia processing, VLSI & computer, optical
information system, network security, real-time computing, embedded systems,
database, and application of information technology to bio and nano technologies.
