Curricular Aspects
A. Curriculum Planning and implementation
2
Every month, the Head of Department organizes the meeting with faculties where
discussions regarding department and their implementations are done. We prepare month-
wise teaching plan for which separate registers are maintained.
Date of Latest Revision : 18.08.15
Month Wise Teaching plan
The syllabus is divided into units. Every teacher plans the syllabus for the
whole session at the beginning of the session. Teaching diary is prepared by
each teacher. It is signed by the principal every month. Thus implementation of
syllabus is ensured.
In July, we analyzed the results of all the classes and found that the fall of B.Sc
result was basically Maths subject
After completion of each unit, class test were taken by subject teachers of each
classes
After Internal Assessment Exam we showed the students their answer sheets
and gave feedbacks to them
For UG students, tougher topics were revised again and respective notes were
provided to them
Model answers were provided to them
In P.G, before practical exams we took classes where we discussed viva
questions
Innovative methods used for implementation of curriculum-
Teaching is not only done by chalk-duster method but also Audio-Video
method is implemented
We motivated students to attend Spoken English free coaching which is
organized by the English department of the college
Audio Visual aids are used at weekends for teaching purpose.
Paper presentation by PG students is made through power point.
To provide practical knowledge to students, they are taken to nearby village
school to teach secondary level students.
B. Academic Flexibility
3
As per UGC norms, 20% academic flexibility is used when needed. We provide academic flexibility to
choose different combination of subjects in the admission of 1st Year of U.G level.
In B.Sc. III year, III paper of Mathematics is optional one. We have opted Discrete
Mathematics looking for its vast application in the various field such as science, sociology and in research
work related to different field.
In order to update the existing curriculum, two optional papers in B.Sc III are introduced
.These paper have wide application in day to day life.
(i.)Applications of mathematics in finance and insurance.
(ii)Mathematical Modeling.
In P.G. level out of the long list prescribed in U.G.C curriculum we have preferred to opt
as optional paper due to its scope, we have one optional paper in previous level and three optional papers
in final level. We have opted Advanced Discrete Mathematics in M.Sc I and II semester which includes
recent topics on algebra (Boolean / finite state machine and graph theory). These are very important tools
for solving specific problems. In M.Sc III and IV semester out of the long list prescribed in U.G.C
curriculum. We have prepared to opt as optional papers due to scope as follows:-
(i) Operation Research:- Operation Research has got wide scope. It is used in many organizations
including business and industry. Various important field are defence , in production department
, marketing departments, financial departments, LIC , agriculture and in planning. Thus OR has
got great scope almost in every walk of life.
(ii) Programming in C (with ANSI feature) theory and practical has been included in the syllabus in
M.Sc III and IV semester looking for its wide applications in every field of life.
(iii) In session 2015-16 in place of paper V: General Relativity and Cosmology, Fuzzy Sets and its
applications is been introduced. This paper has a great extent and is career oriented. It is useful
in research
. These subjects are flexible in reference to mobility.
(1) They may join any job oriented computer program like ICWA.
