• National Appliance and Equipment Energy Efficiency Program (NAEEEP)

• Introduced to increase energy efficiency of appliances and equipment - 25% of Australia’s greenhouse emissions

• Comprises both mandatory and voluntary programs including:– labelling – Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS)

• Technologies contributing most to savings are electronics and standby (20%), major appliances (18%), air-conditioning (18%) and lighting (17%)

• Lighting a key focus of NAEEEP– Regulation of linear fluorescent lamps– Regulation of linear fluorescents ballasts– Best practice and training for lighting professionals
