Many laurels were brought to the
department last year. Various competitions
were held throughout the year by the
reputed firms in which students got an
excellent chance to show their talents.
Many students were recruited in their
dream companies. Some of them have also
excelled and have come up with flying
colours in IIT Techfest. I am overwhelmed
to see the students giving their best in all
the walks of life. Hope to receive more and
more achievements in the coming year and

IIT Delhi presents “TRYST 2016” powered
by Robosapiens held on Feb 26th- 29th. I
have participated in “GLIDER DESIGN
CHALLENGE” and won 3rd prize. IIT Delhi
“TRYST” organizes event like Annual
science, Technology & Management festival.
I have attended workshops on solar energy,
industrial revolution, flipkart by Sachin
Bansal and aquired lots of technical
knowledge. I have visited Electronics &
Mechatronics laboratories and understood
the Research project.

It was an awesome experience in particip
ating in Project Competition of Shikhar 2k
16 at JIT college Nagpur.
There were number of participants in the
competition and our group won 1st prize.
The Name of our project is Home Automati
on using Android Application. The idea beh
ind this project is that to have control of ou
rall the home appliances on the tip of the fi
nger.

SEMINAR ON “ANDROID APP
DEVELOPMENT”
The seminar was conducted under the
banner of Tele-Era. The purpose of this
seminar was to provide Android App
Development expertise to the students. The
resource person Mr. Sampuran Singh,
Senior Research Engineer, Dalvik Apps
Ltd.,Mumbai channelized the students.
In this seminar the students got the
knowledge about the android app
development which forms the foundation
of their designing skills on the live project.
The students got information about cloud
computing, invention of smart phones, how
smart phones compete with other phones
in market.
GUEST LECTURE ON SPEED
MATHEMATICS AND CALCULATIONS
Mr.Rishi Chourasia, Vikalp Education,
Nagpur was invited as the speaker on
“Speed Mathematics and Calculations”. The
speaker made the students familiar with
mathematical tricks. The motive of this
lecture was to prepare the students for
various competitive exams, to assist
students develop/clarify their academic
and career interests and their short and
long term goals through individual
counseling and group sessions.
GUEST LECTURE ON TELEPHONESWITCHING SYSTEM
Under the scheme of Visiting Lecture, a Guest
Lecture was arranged for the students of sixth
semester. The Visiting Lecturer was
Mr.N.B.Naktode, D.G.M. BSNL, Nagpur and
the subject of discussion was “Telephone
switching system”. The purpose of this lecture

was that the Students should be prepared with
the knowledge beyond syllabus and correlate
the same in real time applications related to
Telephone switching system.
SEMINAR ON INDUSTRAIL
AUTOMATION PLC, SCADA & DCS
The purpose of this workshop is to provide
knowledge on PLC, SCADA and DCS. For
providing detailed information regarding PLC
and SCADA, Mr. Nitin Thakre, Director,
WaterTech Solutions, Nagpur, was invited as
the guest speaker.
In this workshop the students were introducedto Automation through which human effortsare being reduced, the productivity isincreased and the quality is improved alongwith human safety. The students got theknowledge of the need of Automation, variousapplications of Automation and why IndustrialAutomation is required. The seminar wasbeneficiary for the students as it providedinformation on PLC, SCADA & DCS and also
about control and Instrumentation which formthe major pillars of Automation. The seminaralso dealt with ‘Modern Automation System’.
GUEST LECTURE ON POWER DEVICESANDMACHNIES
This guest lecture was arranged to make
students familiar with the industry oriented
functioning of power devices and machines.
Mr. Manish kumar Agrawal, Sr.Ex.Engineer
/Asst.Manager Spentex Industries Pvt.Ltd,
Butibori, Nagpur was the visiting lecturer.
The students cleared their concepts regarding
various real life practical applications of power
devices and machines. They also understood
the application oriented basics of PDMC in
interaction session.

WORKSHOP ON PCB DESIGNING
PCB designing plays the basis and
continually growing role in a wide variety
of engineering systems. Keeping this in
mind, a two day workshop was organized
with a dedicated purpose to provide
practical technical knowledge of designing
circuits to the students. The trainers ‘Ms.
Minakshi Chippa, Mr.Shrikant Bhandarkar
and Mr. Niket Malusare provided the
students with the EAGLE software for
designing the circuit on the PCB. On this
occasion, HoD Dr. S. W. Varade,
emphasized on the importance of the PCB
designing techniques and its long term
benefits for the students.
GESTURE CONTROL VLC MEDIA PLAYER
AND ROBOTICS
Robotics integrates different branches of
Engineering together. Understanding this
importance of robotics, the department in
collaboration with Electus Robotics,
Nagpur organised a seminar under ISTE
student chapter on “Gesture Control VLC
Media Player”. The purpose of this
workshop was to provide knowledge to
control the robots with the help of the
gesture of the hand movements. The main
module of the workshop was VLC Media
Player. The trainers provided the software
for designing the robot. The students of
5th& 7th semester showed an overwhelming
response for the successful conduction of
the workshop.
WORKSHOP ON PLC, CNC and SCADA
Under the banner of ‘Career development
Cell’, Workshop on PLC,CNC and SCADA
was conducted on 4th Feb 2016. The
purpose was to spur Technical Knowledge
of DTMF controlled Robot among students.
The event was conducted under the
guidance of Mr. Amit Rao (Sr. Automation
Engineer, KrishInfotech, Nagpur)

Mr. Rao gave detailed information about
the working of PLC, CNC and SCADA, the
necessity of these systems in industries. He
also discussed about the working of these
system in bottling plant industry,
international airport, and also poultry
form industry. Lastly, he informed the
central government certification courses
and opportunity in central government.
106 students of fourth semester attended
the workshop.
WORKSHOP ON ANDROID APP
DEVELOPMENT
“Android App” is an open source platform
and has covered 80 percent of the market
due to its economic feasibility. Under the
banner of Tele-Era and IEEE Students
Chapter a two day workshop on Android
App development was conducted. This
event was organized on 3rd and 4th Feb
2016. The Resource Person, Mr. Sampuran
Singh, Senior Research Engineer, Dalvik
Apps, Mumbai addressed the students. The
students got information about the Android
App which forms the foundation of their
App development skills on the live project.
Students also learnt how to develop a logic
for Android App. Throughout the
workshop the students were given
practical hands on “Android App
Development” which is done on “Eclipse”.

They learnt how to develop the app for
calling purpose, recorder and institutional
application forms using eclipse and also
learnt the process of dumping such apps in
the android smart-phone. Under the
guidance of the speaker the students got to
learn the importance of developing the the
different Apps and working for the live
projects professionally. 102 students of
Sixth Semester of participated in this event.
WORKSHOP ON ARDUINO
Arduino is used for conduction of
innovative practicals for microprocessor
and microcontroller. Keeping this in mind
the department organized a Three Day
Workshop on “Arduino: Introduction and
Hands on Practice”. The objective of this
workshop is to provide knowledge on
“Arduino” which is an open source
prototyping platform used for conduction
of innovative practicals for microprocessor
and microcontroller.
Under the expertise of Mr. Mangesh Patil,
Mr. Sumitkumar Dhule, Mr. Abhipray
Paturkar, Ms. Anagha Vaidya faculties got
the knowledge on Arduino which has been
the brain of thousands of different projects
and applications. The seminar was
beneficiary for the faculty as it is used for
conduction of innovative practicals for
microprocessor and microcontroller. The
seminar also dealt with practice session on
“Arduino Board”. The faculties were able to
do programming in Arduino IDE. The
faculties were able to interface various
analog and digital sensors and actuators.
With great zeal and fervour exhibited by
the Faculties of Electronics and Electronics
& Telecommunication Engineering
Departments, this event was carried out
successfully.
WORKSHOP ON MATLAB, SIMULINK &
IMAGE PROCESSING TOOLBOX
A workshop on MATLAB and Simulink and
Image processing toolbox was organized
The purpose of this workshop was to
understand the practical concept of Image

processing, coding in MATLAB, Simulink,
GUI design. Mr. Sudhir Koche, Director at
SOFTTRONIX, Mr. Gaurav Channe were the
experts who delivered and addressed this
workshop.
Students got aware about theoretical
knowledge of Image Processing and
practical implementation was learned
from this Workshop.

FORUM INSTALLATION UNDER
STUDENTS FORUM “TELE-ERA”
The purpose of Forum Installation is to
form a student organization for conduction
of various activities, maintaining discipline
in the department. Motivate the students to
achieve excellence in their field of interests.
Students of all semesters along with the
faculties of the department were present in
the Installation Ceremony.
Dr. (Mrs.) S. W. Varade, HoD (ETC)
addressed the gathering and motivated the
students to achieve the vision and mission
of the Department.
The students were enthusiastic to be a part
of this Students Forum “Tele-Era”
SHODH 2K16- TECHNO CIRCUIT
COMPETITION
Techno Circuit Competition was organized
under the events of SHODH 2K16. The
purpose of this Techno-Circuit Competition
is to provide technical platform to the
students for design, connection and
simulation of the electronic circuit.
In this competition the students got a
platform to show the knowledge about the
technical skills of designing various
electronic circuits and their simulation on
bread board.

SHODH 2K16- TECHNO-QUIZ
Under the banner of SHODH 2K16 Quiz
competition was arranged for the students.
The Mentor of this competition was Mr.
Dipta Dhal. It was arranged to test the
technical knowledge of the students.
This Quiz competition was organized in
two stages. The first was written aptitude
test. The second was the Oral Round which
had 6 teams. In oral session various rounds
took place such as pictorial questions,
puzzles, followed by tricky questions.
The students were eager to participate in
various rounds. The quiz was beneficiary
for the students as the questions followed
by their answers amazed the students.
Students found the Quiz to be
knowledgeable and informative.
SHODH 2K16- PROJECT COMPETITION
(POLY)
The purpose of this competition was to
encourage new talent and innovations in
young diploma students from various
institutions.
The mentors Prof. Kiran Urkude, Principal,
Awadhut College of Polytechnic Nagpur,
Prof. Khope, Mechanical Department, PCE,
Nagpur, Mr. Kadu, Mahendra & Mahendra
guided the students.
The project competition offered anopportunity for the students to work on
actual Industrial case and propose
resolution. This allows them to gain
experience of resolving an industrial
problem. 24 groups of polytechnics of
various polytechnic colleges.

SHODH 2K16- PROJECT COMPETITION
(UG)
This competition was organized for the
Undergraduate Students of Eighth
Semester to enhance their technical skills.
The mentors Prof. A.S.Sambare , HOD,
Computer Technology Department, PIET,
Nagpur. Prof. A.C. Kailuke, PIET, Nagpur
motivated the students.
148 students of eighth semester
participated in the event.
SHODH 2K16- MECHATRON
The purpose of this event was to promote
the development of driverless vehicles in
real world and to provide fun competition
for group of robotic enthusiasts.
The students operated wireless robot and
the competition was to complete a task of
crossing a bridge as quickly as possible.
The performance of the student was good.
SHODH 2K16- DEBUGGING
This event is mainly based on coding a
program on C/C++ or removing errors in
given program. The students understood
the importance of coding. The students
were able to locate and fix or by-pass
errors by using C/C++ program code.

The event motivated the students to
practice on ‘C’ and improve their problem
solving capability.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION
Teacher's Day is intended to be special
days for the appreciation of teachers and
may include celebrations to honor them for
their special contributions in life of every
students.
The celebration was a wonderful and
memorable experience for all Teachers.
The Tele-Era team and students organized
teacher’s day program for all teachers.
FOUNDER’S DAY CELEBRATION
This day marks Birthday Celebration of Dr.
Satish Chaturvediji, the founderr of
Priyadarshini Group of Institutions.
It was celebrated on 10th October 2015
with great enthusiasm by the faculty and
students of the department under the
banner of Tele-Era, Student Forum of the
Department.
ALUMINI MEET
Alumni Meet was conducted by the
department to provide platform for pass
out students to cherish their old memories
during college life & share their views
about their experience.

Gaidhaneo The Alumina and Students
participated for Alumni meet. They all had
a great time together as they were meeting
after a long time. They enjoyed games and
dinner a lot.
